Done this flight many times in both BC and down the back. Have watched it gradually decline. Seems worse coming back from Singapore. Our March flight the food was dead set slop. Took 3 hours to do the dinner service. We just wanted to get some sleep having just flown from Europe on Emirates. Price you pay i suppose. We have learnt to buy our round trip flights in BC from Singapore. Half the price. Then we use points to get to Singapore in BC or just fly down the back. Rather fly Emirates any day but the return BC fare is nuts out of Perth.
We’re flying Qatar out to Europe from Melbourne later this year and can only go 777 whereas our family are joining us in London flying out of Perth on A380. Seems that A380 used on Perth-Doha-Perth but 777-300 Melbourne-Doha-Melbourne. We find this fact rather interesting. As a family group we’re all flying out of New York to Doha on 777 but they head back to Perth A380 and us to Melbourne 777 again. No First Class on 777…only Q-Suite…. …Some of your audio is a bit whoopsie…was hard to hear…

I had the pleasure of trying Qatar airways first class myself from Doha to Bangkok last year, unfortunately didn't have the option of doing double caviar, totally missed out on that! Should the title of this be Perth to Doha instead of Doha to Perth?
Leaving from Perth, the Air NZ lounge was used.. It was crowded and not very impressive - so I omitted this from the RU-vid… The lounge in Doha was much better! Unfortunately no Krug was available on this flight 🥲

Hayden is an absolute delight, as is the Asian Australian gentleman - great representatives for Australia, and the best of what we see in Qantas service. i'd be thrilled and comforted to be looked after by either of them on any flight.
this is my favourite lounge, and i say that as a Melburnian who is of course naturally averse to complimenting or even acknowledging Sydney, at all costs. it's just a cut above. i know everyone carries on about the squid, but my absolute must have thing there and in Melbourne too is the chicken club sandwich. it is so much more than the sum of it's parts. it's honestly perfect and i think about it way more than is probably normal.
i've never been a fan of Emirates' bling interiors, and the snacks & pointless beverages on hand all add to aa physical and aesthetic busy-ness that i personally cannot handle. however that was an excellent serving of caviar, just as it should be, and i have mad respect for that.
Oh my goodness - what a room - this is absolutely remarkable! I don't think I'll ever be able to cruise in a room like this, so thank you for showing us around!
Thanks for a simply great video, super informative. I’m making that flight myself in 6 weeks, except I’m flying out of Manchester instead of London, but heading home to Perth via Dubai. Funnily enough I’m even in the same seat as you were lol, except 1A on the flight to Dubai and 1K from Dubai to Perth. This is definitely a bucket list flight for me, and it’s going to be so worth the cost (no sponsorship or miles for me lol). One thing I’d recommend too is trying the Hennessy Paradis (exclusive to First Class). I’m so looking forward to both flights, and especially having a shower at 40,000ft 😁. Thanks again, it’s been fun to watch what I have in store.

I really appreciate your feedback - thank you! The delays with embarkation related to this being the first cruise and there were teething issues that Richard Branson later apologised at the sailaway party. I haven’t read of any other such delays apart from this initial Mermaiden voyage. Regarding the drinks , these are pre-stocked, however we were advised by our Rockstar Agent we could swap the drinks - eg switch out the bottle of Rum to a Gin etc.. Enjoy your rockstar experience!
YOu did not try the Korean restaurant Gunbae? It was good too. I loved the show of Persephone, but 15 min to queue and 1 hour standing to watch - very exhausting on feet.
