I tried that first and must not have had the right place. Long term solution is the 92 octane non ethanol fuel and stabil in the summer. My Blower has started first time everytime since my first post on this a couple years ago
Only time my 2410 wouldn't start, after being dumbfounded for a half hour the lil plastic key wasn't pushed in all the way! Literally out 5/15 of an inch. Crazy! I must add, put an impeller kit on your blower and you'll thank me later. Closest thing to injecting steroids into your snowblower. Will throw the wettest of snow and throw a lot further. Simple and cheap upgrade
Once I spray the starter fluid and put it back together it turns on after one pull and then shuts off immediately. And then it doesn’t start again unless I re spray the start fluid. I have new fuel and engine oil
Ok I have an update...I posted this over two years ago and NOW my blower starts FIRST PULL even after it's been in storage for the summer. TWO THINGS: 1) Use 90+ octane ETHANOL FREE fuel...complete GAME CHANGER! 2) I do put some STABIL fuel stabilizer in at the end of the season. The 90+ Octane fuel is sold by the gallon and costs $22-$25 per gallon BUT IT'S WORTH IT! Bonus- One other trick- I turned the choke knob about 3/4 instead of all the way...seems to help a little too
Much easier: pull the choke knob out and spray the starter fluid right down that plastic tube there . That is the air intake for the carb. Spray spray, start!
Karen- The second BIG "AHAH" moment was the fuel. Regular fuel only holds up for about 2-3 months. Some maintenance and lawncare people told me to use ETHANOL free 92-94 octane fuel. It's expensive($20-$23/ gallon ) but I have not had one problem starting my snow blower in the last 2 years. The first two years I really had a hard time starting it until I learned about the right fuel.
Well Troy-bilt is part of the big MTD conglomerate so same engines across many brands. So Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, Remington, yard machines etc are all share components. I was looking at some Craftsman blowers the other day and they had the same MTD engine in it.
@@misterenergy959 This is good advice. Once I have it running for a season, I try to use ethanol free gas from the pump (sometimes hard to find). End of season I run it dry, then refill some from that expensive canned gas from Lowes/HD etc and run for a few minutes before storing away. End up pouring the rest of that pump gas into a car tank and refilling before the next season so it is fresh.
@@mattgantz2576 I ended up draining some of the old gas out of the bowl and it must have cleared the bad gas because I got it started in a few pulls after that Thanks
Will- You will need a 13/16 socket and standard ratchet to unscrew the spark plug and screw it back in. I would suggest cleaning the end of the spark plug as well with a small wire brush.
Thanks, I did that sprayed some ether in there but it would only run for a few seconds. Cleaned the carb, seamfoamed the tank, new gas and the whole 9, but still no luck. Replacing the spark plug today, hopefully thatll fix it.
Thanks for the socket size. I went out and got one removed the spark plug, was black and not sparking, cleaned until it worked again. Air blew into the carb to remove carbon dust, sprayed some starter and Praise G-d, it came to life.
