I saw this some years ago and had the exact same reaction seeing it today! PURE EXCITEMENT!!! I love the "hair-ography" of the ladies. I love West African dance!!

@whichone22 They start off with Yaba Compose which then goes into Bara M'Baye at 2:12. From Bara M'Baye it goes into Kaolack. From Kaolack it goes into Nyari Goron then it goes into Thie Bou Dienne. ;- )
@Hervinbalfour i think i was speaking to the piece with the group right after the opening Bara Mbaye??/ or???? what is that ? they open with Bara Nbaye right then a short piece before the naari gorong and thieb.
Yeah, I just learned that the "Sabar" dance, usually performed to the beat of the Djembe drum is supposed to be a sensual dance performed by single ladies to attract mates. ...but I've totally got to learn this dance for my husband.
As one formerly married to a master sabar drummer, who's been to Senegal to study dance many times, I have a real appreciation for the beauty of leumbeul and the cool and collected ladies performing it here. Heck yeah this is a hot, sexy dance! That's why I love this culture!! These folks have a healthy respect for the sexual aspect of our human nature. There's not a thing demeaning or unnatural about it. They also respect family, marriage and culture. Wish we americans were more like them!
Leumbeul is a traditional Wolof Sabar Rhythm played at the end of every Sabar street party. It signifies the end of the party and is a part of the set Sabar repertoire. On the street the beccio is worn as an under garment to be flashed for the drummers.
part 2 Every man enjoys the leumbeul as much as the woman enjoys to dance it. In Senegal it is not leered upon except by drunk tourists or ex-pats. So i say, get over the judgement thing, leave your pre-conceived notions at the door, it's a cultural thing, deeply rooted in tradition .... and freedom of expression.

Sabar is the name of the drums (Indigenous to Senegal), the dance and the street gathering where dancers and drummers meet. There are many different sabar rhythms and many dances to dance within each rhythm.
