I visit this course every year and I'm about to take my trip up in a week. This course eats me alive every year, and it's still a favorite of mine. The views are breathtaking. Nice job on the video work, you did a great job capturing the scenery.
Can you let me know how the fairways are these days ? I remember they were in terrible shape when I went a few years ago, shows in the video probably shot around the same time… have they been able to fix the issue ?
@@JB-hw7gd so it's a bit of a yes and a no answer. The fairways are in good shape, I remember them a few years ago being in rough shape in a few places. They're in better condition now for sure. However, some of their greens got hurt badly last winter and although there was grass, it wasn't fully grown in and wasn't up to their typical standard. The course was also very wet, it was cart path only (CPO) for 2 of my 3 days. The starter told us she's only said "90 degree rule today" 9 times all season, my day was the 10th... of the season. But it's still my favorite course, the views and experience is still worth it for me, and I know that's an eye of the beholder type of sentiment.

@JB-hw7gd so I live near cape cod in Mass. Its normally 4.5 hours for me to Sunday River and I’ve actually considered a same day up and back trip. I am in love with the course. I think I have a problem. Ha!
This is a well groomed, challenging course for all ages and skill levels. Bring your putting game with you. These multi-tiered greens are beautiful to look at- but can exploit some real ugliness in your putting game. For the most part, the course is open, meaning you can hit some errant shots from deep rough, or from other fairways. This makes it a great course for ball striking. Hole 15 is heart-breaker! A dog-leg right. You need a 200 yard tee shot to hug a very narrow fairway. The hazard to the right is HAZARDOUS and eats balls! I have yet to get anything better than a double-bogey on this hole.
