Hello big mike, i've found a sera in pakistan in horrible condition. I'm planning to restore the car, could you guide me about the front bumper you have installed in your car? I've sourced most of the parts but i'm trying to get the bumper made here locally, i just want to know the serial number or the name of the bumper or its dimensions
Hahahahaha it's hilarious that you caught that. From the forums to IG to real life and in person, it's been great developing a friendship with you over these years and I'm honored and excited at next year again with your event and our other plans!
Love this series on the DC5. Personally went with oem Type R lip kit and rear wing (what a bitch to source). Thinking maybe Js fenders in the future. Found OEM DC5R headlights over seas and ordered 3 sets lol just in case.
Thank you, for the love on this specific DC5 series and for joining the family on this channel. The OEM DC5-R look just can't be wrong. It looks good no matter how many there are, it's just that proportionate and perfect. Wait, you found AUTHENTIC DC5-R black housing HID headlights overseas at a price point that you ordered THREE sets??? Please let me know what's up, I'd like to get a backup set!
Cool find. Fun fact: The Toyota Sera is the reason behind why Mclaren doors are the way they are, Oh and also why the Mclaren Senna windows are half windows. I apologize, Big Mike... I didn't watch your video from the beginning before posting my "fun fact" but very cool you knew/revealed the inspiration story behind the Sera/ Mclaren, not many car enthusiasts let alone US car enthusiasts know that back story (Sera/Mclaren dihedral doors)., also very cool to know/see there's a toyota sera on US soil. Hope I get to finally see the Sera in the US in person.
I was just about to respond to your comment and ask/suggest you watch the video, but then I paused and read your comment in its entirety and saw you apologize about putting the fun fact before watching. I appreciate how we both can acknowledge things like that. Thank you for joining the family here on my YT channel, it's great that you enjoy this chassis and history and I look forward to you watching upcoming episodes on this and my other builds. Oh, did you see the first video I did with this car? It was the reveal episode. If you haven't, please do. I appreciate you!
Wow! It *really* does look orange in the sunlight! I had just peeped the Cars and Coffee video. Man, I just discovered this car a few days ago and have been looking around for pictures and videos on it since. It's a pretty dope car. Looking forward to seeing what work of art you produce with it in the future. Edit: And respect for keeping things close to OEM and era apropriate during your initial mods to the car. Those drives will be memorable for sure! 👌
Hey, thank you for watching and digesting the information and visuals! Yup, they have a beautiful tint/huge of orange in the red that pops in the right lighting. You can find more pictures and reels of this car and my other ones on my IG: @thebigmike - feel free to join the family there, too! Thank you for the respect on the manner and style with which I'm modding the vehicle initially. Enjoying it for what it with subtle compliments/mods is what it's all about right now.
What an amazing and thoughtful way to show their appreciation for your contribution to the automotive world and world in general. What is the process they did for the art? Is it hand painted or some kind of mixed media?
Right! Amazing and thoughtful, the perfect words to describe what he did. The process was straight up hand painted. He set me some still photos of the artist there in his shop with an easel and a photograph on the canvas as he hand painted it. Incredible.
I appreciate the kind words. Now you have an understanding of how long I’ve been modding Preludes. The red win colored pin commemorates the Prelude build I did that was on the cover of Honda Tuning Magazine in 2008!
@@BigMikeEdition I want to thank you Mike!! this build gave me motivation to start work on cars (I do 3D modeling body kits for cars that later can be 3D printed and made in to molds so body kit can be made as needed)... and I have in plan to buy and build my own Prelude MK4 in near future with gods will!
Thank you very much. You can get a 3-pin collector’s case, print, and Honda tee from me (if your shirt size isn’t sold out, that is). DM me on Instagram and I’ll secure your items!
We’ve done two pins together before, but this was the first full capsule which includes the 3-pin collector’s case, print, and Honda shirt. It was a great gathering, thank you for watching!
@BigMikeEdition I'm watching one of your other videos now. I see you were car shopping for a new project. What do you think about the 4th gen Acura TL SH-AWD 6speed manual trans?
@@chrisancrum8088 Yea I was car shopping and in a different episode I show what I picked. As for that transmission, I don't know a soul who has one or who has ever used one, so I don't have any thoughts about it all.
@BigMikeEdition I was thinking I watched that episode also, it was the Toyota, right? As for the Acura, I was actually meaning the car in general... not just the tranmission. My bad for not wording it right. I have one and have done a few things to it, I would like to one done up really well as you do your cars.
@@chrisancrum8088 Oh, I see. Yes, the Toyota SERA. Ok, so you were asking about the 4th gen TL in general. I have only had a few friends have them, and they enjoyed them for being big body cruisers. They can be great-looking drivers, but when you say you want to do one like I do my cars, what exactly do you mean?
I appreciate you being subscribed and being a part of the family here. Thanks for the love! Much more on this build and the other chassis is on the way!
You can go to SPARCO USA and sit in them and other seats in person to know what’s most comfortable for you. I wouldn’t utilize them if they weren’t good for wider individuals LOL
The casale designs wing looks good paired with with the aspec kit. I run the aspec sides skirts and rear lip along with the casale design low wing and greddy front lip. Threw in carbon fiber fog light covers and exhaust heat shield just to give it a little extra something. It’s nice and subtle for a street car.
Nice! I like the GReddy front lip a lot and am still considering it, but I wanna mess with it a little bit if I do LOL. Thanks for tuning in and joining the family here.
nice! I love the progress on your car man. finding those parts alone is not an easy task. especially with those prices! Im still looking for OE Aspec stuff for mine.
Thank you, Chris! I appreciate it. Yea, the search can be difficult at times, and other times they are there just waiting and you’ve gotta snatch them up! I look forward to seeing the progress on yours, too.
@@BigMikeEdition You're right! but man those prices lol are killing me 😅😅 if you happen to come across some Aspec stuff for the 05-06 let me know! and as far my car its been sitting at the moment. I just got a Type R center console with the hand brake I will be installing soon.
My friend! Thank you. Over the years I've looked into many cars and this one has been cool to me for some time now. Thank you for watching and listening.
