It is good to remember where you are born, but think of how Banjul is. It is small in land size, surrounded by water. I will give an example of myself, the compound where I was born is owned and by my great grand father 22:43 , his children, and his cousin's children were born there. If we all the descendants live in that do you think the land will be enough to provide our needs and allow us to live in tranquility. It is impossible. Some must migrate. In short, the size of Banjul is too small to house all the people that were born there or will be born there.

I was born and race in combo and have no interest in banjul but is very sad to see banjul like this, people of banjul have to stay and protect Banjul instead of running from Banjul to combo. Banjul is a historical place. Let's try and maintain the place, please.

Kotoh Lamin is spot on! I remember Banjul in the 1980s when I used to come to Banjul cinema from the kombos. The city is unrecognizable compared to what it is now. So sad and heartbreaking!

Thanks again for the concern about what befalls Banjul it's really a sad thing n the authorities need to put a stop for what's going on. It's already happening citizens are experiencing much difficulties when it comes to finding a place to stay. This shouldn't be.

No sound at all. Just been listening to the history of Banjul by Mr Sam Goddard and Alh Mansour Njie with no problem. Have you received complaints about the sound of this video?

Thank you Kotor Lamin. Very nicely presented video. ( Y-nak Fategna "BROTHER IS" ISMAELA AKA Yaly poson of Half Die.) He Loved fighting in those days, but he was a very cool brother. I left Banjul 1991 and came back after 20 years to visit. My heart died for seeing the worst conditions our lovely Banjul looked. My childhood memories of Banjul in the 70's to the early 90's were the best in my live. Banjul needs more trees.

You left for 20 years, someone else left for 20 years. And you expect that city to be in a good condition? You people of the place have to stay and maintain your resources.

What a wonderful man & story about the technical trainingcenter and the surroundings & landmarks in Banjul slowly dissapearing. I am Swedish but understand 80%wollof. I love the knowledge and presentation mr Gaye is doing and Its a shame that buildings like this are not renovated and used properly, instead they are just tearing them down like they have no value. its horryfying and sad. Moore videos like this please from Banjul to Kartong please🙏🏼

Asalamu Alaikum Mr Gaye and thanks for your succinct video presentation . Actually, I couldn’t believe what I heard and saw from your video presentation. It really put me in a state of nostalgia clouded by anger that is propagated by blatant practices of corruption, greed and injustices as a common hallmark of the Government of the day. All of these negative social practices are signaling signs of a Liser-Fairer style of administration who are bent on doing the wrong sums (i. e misplaced priorities). It does imply that even if they’ve the answers right, the end result will be futile with no public benefit. Other signs that may be attributed to these negative social practices are due to the following factors: a)-Man’s eroding spirituality ; b)-the character deterioration of man in particular those entrusted with the responsibility to serve the people at national level; c)- the degeneration and decaying trends of a society; d)- the rampant mischief which is created by corruption, nepotism and their related social injustices has also left some of our youths to be unemployed, thereby propagating crimes that renders society in a state of despair and limbo. How on earth can a government administration undermines and blatantly destroy the very foundation of its Technical Education and Vocational System. The nature of such a shameful act is a reflection and testimony of their lack of respect and understanding of how Science Technology has enabled America and the West to rule and control the World’s Global Market . We can also refer to other successful and leading countries who are key players in the above mentioned Market such as China and Singapore. Actually, based on the World Bank Economic Index during the mid-sixties, both Singapore and The Gambia were economically at par. The crucial factor is that, how did Singapore managed to become a contributor and significant manufacturing key player in the International Economic and Manufacturing Market, while The Gambia is still lagging behind as a Third World Country and among Africa’s and the World’s poorest and underdeveloped country. In fact while Singapore was busy fighting corruption and heavily investing in Science Technology Education, The Gambia was busy with the political power struggle that led to an attempted failed coup by Kucoi Samba Sanyang. The 22 years of the worst dictatorship ever in the history of Africa. Now, the Gambian people are in constant fear due to an unprecedented surge in crime rates, high rates of youths unemployment, degeneration of key national social services such a in health, education, fisheries to name a few. For ease of reference, please open the attached link and see how Singapore became a Developed County. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FDEPeUUP-M0.html
