I created this channel to document my 'Learning to Play Guitar' progress with some of my formal Berklee College of Music video lessons, which began in October 2022. You will see random drum videos every now and then, since I'm actually a drummer. Thanks for watching and subscribing! JoeT.
My very very very favorite guitar solo my only wish is that it was longer . Whole lotta love is probably my 2nd & i wish it was longer to . Noice guitar . Randy had my favorite guitars of any collection . The man had unique styling attire to that fit him perfectly . Id say randy & ckiff burton are the biggest tragedies in rock music aswell as hendrix but he had a longer career . Thank you for highlightning Saint Randy Rhodes ❤
Thanks for watching and for the kind words, Buddy Lee. I updated the video description to say that this song was a favorite of mine while I lived a life as a drummer. I can only imagine what it would be like if he were still alive; I know it would be amazing. Long live Randy Rhoads!!!
Hello Chris, I'm using a Fractal Audio Systems FM9, and for my amp, I mostly use a Soldano. My intentions were to just play a bit and not recreate the EVH sound or playing style.
Hi Joe, just want to check in to know how was your metal guitar course going for this semester, is it a good course as classic rock course? I will start it in next semester but a bit hesitated bewteen this one and the advanced blues guitar, thank you for your reply!
hello Wu, the Metal class was awesome! Both classes are great, but you have to compose your own solos for the metal guitar class, and if that is difficult for you, then go with the advanced blues class. I'm off to the world of Steve Vai next semester.
@@JoeT_Music_Page Thanks Joe, then I will definately take the metal guitar class, and then the advanced blues class. That steve vai course you mentioned is also on my future list! but I will take it maybe next year after finishing several other semeters of 200 level courses, I think that steve vai course is pretty advanced for me at the moment. Seeing your posted video here is one of my motivations for learning guitar and taking courses, you inspired me a lot, please keep the great work☺, thanks!
Thanks ! I'm still playing with a bit of pain in my fret hand, but I feel I'm on the mend. I've had to cut my guitar playing time in half for the past several weeks, and it's been a bit frustrating.
I'm still using Superior 2. Unfortunately ToonTrack refuses to make their plugins accessible to the blind so I'm stuck here. I do have all the SDX packs that superior 2 supports though.
Greetings Marcel, btw, you're a great player and I love your drum sounds. As to our similar styles, I can't explain it, kind of cool though. Not sure I'll ever own a real drum set again but I do miss real Hats. With my current E-drum setup I'm able to play when I want without disturbing anyone and I've spent hours tweaking my set for playablity so I'm ok with the trade off. Next week I'll be moving into my 'Heavy Metal' phase for the next 3 months and future GUITAR and DRUM videos will be in that particular style as well. Thanks for the comment and take care Marcel.
Hello, very good solo, is this part of assignments of the classic rock guitar course? I will take this course in berklee online in two days and I am very exicted. May I know how long do you spend each week to practice the weekly materials? Thanks!
Hello wuzhexi, to answer your first question... No, this particular video is NOT an assignment for the Berklee Online Classic Rock course. Some of the other 'Classic Rock Guitar' videos are part of the course and it's just a small sample of them. The course will cover TONS of material from that era of music. It's an awesome class and if you're a fan of that era of music then your will enjoy the class. To answer your second question... it really depends on your skill level and the amount of material you want to focus on. Each week you will have optional assignments at varying skill levels so you can either spend just a few minutes OR hours each day, up to each person. Take care and good luck !
@@JoeT_Music_Page Thank you so much for your detailed explanation of this course, the course will start tomorrow and I am very excited. Just one more question, I saw in your posted videos that it seems you also took the advanced blues class, do you think that class is also good? I have taken the blues class last semester with Mike but haven't decided yet whether to take the advanced one in the future, thanks for your reply and wish you all the best!
@@wuzhexi4845 - I highly recommend the Advance Blues Guitar course !!! So much material in that particular class and I would be tempted to take it again to learn some of the more challenging material. I'm moving into my Metal Guitar phase starting tomorrow as well as current Metal Drum video postings. take care, have fun and good luck!
@@JoeT_Music_Page Hello JoeT, I quite enjoy the classic rock guitar course so far and I have learned a lot. Just want to know how is your Metal guitar coursing going so far, is it a great course also? I am planning to enrol to the metal guitar next semester, but when I am looking at the syllabus of that course, it seems like it focuses a lot on scales and arppiegios stuff, does that course also provide a lot of real world solos to practice? Thank you!
