I think part of the reason there is so much toxicity and discrimination between male and female in kpop is mostly because this problem does not only exist within the kpop industry but the community itself. Korean society does not have a healthy view or opinion on women itself in general. And therefore in an industry where you are seen as a commodity, run by men makes things more vulnerable and taken advantage of. But things have changed alot compared to the past and the industry is improving. But what makes it more sadder is the fans makes it toxic too. It is an industry where change is hardly what you're gonna expect and if it does it makes things easier for little and lucky people. I think the men in kpop industry feel obligated to have an opinion in everything and take things for granted. It is not that these women don't have voice it's just that they are helpless. What's good to see is that male idols are being a support for female idols too. They need to stand together to make things better and bring change because it is KPOP. Kpop does divide between two genders anyways. Plus the fans. Fans have the biggest voice than idols so use it for good.
its necessary to talk more about this. the standards that are forced onto kpop idols become even more unfair for women. im glad some of them have talked about it, and that some fight for what's right. im so proud of every single one of them even if i dont know them individually, because truth is, its not easy being a woman
