*Male leopards are single throughout their life except during mating season. In felines, lions live in groups called "pride" when it contains males with females and their offspring or "coalition" when it contains only mature males. Leopards, on the other hand, are genetically programmed to live alone in a territory where several females and their immature offspring live alone and separately.* *_Have you ever seen images of a leopard couple (male + female) whose female is not in heat, in the estrous state?_* *_Have you ever seen images of a leopard couple whose female is in gestation?_* *_Have you ever seen pictures of a leopard couple being accompanied by their offspring?_* *_If the leopard could feel loneliness, why wouldn't he live in a couple?_* So that this male leopard does not feel lonely. He does not need companions. He only meets the females of his territory during the mating season, inviting them to copulate if they are in season. To do so, he emits a guttural sound similar to that of a saw against a log called a "sawing call". This call also warns males from neighboring territories to keep out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RLus4bTWzfM.html On our RU-vid channel ru-vid.comvideos are published more than 180 homemade-made videos shot by our trap cameras in the Gabonese jungle. At the noise produced by the breaking of the mirror, not understanding what they had just done, they resumed their walk in the forest. Another one was broken by a silverback gorilla doing side charges to scare its reflection. Many primates hold lianas and branches in their hands, because this makes them feel stronger. Also this gorilla pulled behind him a long branch which, bouncing on the ground, went to break the mirror while the gorilla was running along the mirror: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3y4uoxqz2Ts.html 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗿𝘀 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9jxwVgul_lM.html Watch more of my 180 homemade videos published on my channel ru-vid.comvideos and read the description attached to each of them. *As specified in the title and in the description, this video was filmed in Gabon (Africa). It is therefore a leopard (Panthera pardus) and not a jaguar (Panthera onca) because this one is only present on the American continent where there are no elephants. A jaguar looks like a leopard, but it is more massive and has a wider head. Its tail is shorter. The spots (rosettes or eye-spots) on its coat are not completely empty because there are small black spots inside. In the leopard these black-edged spots are empty on the inside and only very exceptionally contain a black point. *In felines, while lions are programmed to live in large family groups (pride), male leopards are genetically programmed to live alone, to live without any female (except during mating periods) and without their own offspring and therefore to be single throughout his life. So this male leopard is a solitary and territorial animal. He occupies a territory that overlaps a few smaller female territories. He doesn't feel alone and dont search an odourless mate. He doesn't need any friend, any lifepartner. **_"This male leopard is not in love with his own image reflected in a mirror in the jungle as Narcissus, an impossibly handsome figure from Greek mythology, fell in love with his own image reflected in a pool of water."_** These mirrors break a certain sameness in his life in the rain forest. Front of them This male leopard behaviour changes from one minute to the next, of desire for company, of desire to fight with a rival, an intruder in his territory who strangely has no smell and is mute. Or maybe this male rubs himself on the mirror because a female leopard in estrus did it earlier leaving her scent? He only meets females during the mating season. To invite the females in heat, he emits a guttural sound called " sawing call ". This call also warns rival males not to enter his domain:* ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RLus4bTWzfM.html On our RU-vid channel ru-vid.comvideos are published more than 180 videos captured by our trap cameras fixed in the Gabon jungle. *To intimidate and drive away his reflection in the mirror, his slaps must be very loudly and noisily on the ground. Avoiding looking at it straight into his eyes, a sign of invitation to fight between two silverbacks, he glances at it out of the corner of his eye, stands up in a bipedal position, shows his stature, raises clouds of dust by lateral charges and made very powerful slaps to the ground. Our four-legged cousin, with calluses on his hands and feet, is **_clever_** because in order to avoid hurting himself by hitting the ground very hard with very loud slaps (not punching) to show his power and thus frighten the invader of his domain (his own reflection) and push him to escape, **_he smacks only sandy ground_** with cupped hands (open hands) or with his feet flat.* In my description attached to my video, I explain that behavior in silverback gorillas and the behaviour of other members (blackbacks) of his family. @@XHB06400CANNES I was joking. I am against anything that scares or stresses out intelligent animals, purely for human entertainment. Like rodeo, dog racing/fighting, horse racing, cock fighting. I have mixed feelings about fishing, as I love fishing, but come from the British coarse fishing scene, where fish are always released, barbless hooks used, fish properly revived & strong on the release, parasites & any old hooks removed, etc. Which I have continued in saltwater fishing, much to fellow kiwi fisherman's confusion. I believe: if a fish has given me the pleasure of the fight, the least I can do is let it live, and I get more pleasure from the idea of a released fish, being still out there swimming, doing its thing, than I do eating fish and turning them to brown muck in my guts. I care deeply about animals, am a qualified vet nurse, volunteered and the SPCA for years, and always stop for injured animals. Getting changed with dangerous driving for stopping traffic to letting wild turkeys & their chicks cross a busy highway. I do struggle with fishing, it's just been part of my life since I was a kid, but never enjoyed to death part of it. I try not to use dead fish bait, preferring lures, but I do feel terribly guilty if a fish does die by my hand, even if that wasn't my intention, I caused it. Like when they get sharked during the battle. I do enjoy seeing animals response to their own reflection and how it corresponds to the level of an animal's self-awareness and understanding of reflection, but i'm not sure I would go to the lengths of setting up giant mirrors in the jungle. I'm not sure confusing animals like that is "cruel" per se, but I guess it messes with their head, and may cause animal arguments over whose go it is to have a play. But I was only joking about the idea of trying funhouse convex and concave, distorting mirrors. That would probably be a step too far for their poor minds. I guess in nature, reflections would only ever startle animals when they see their reflection in water or other shiny surfaces. Cheers

@XHB06400CANNES
@XHB06400CANNES 17 дней назад
*Stupid as you would be, if your parents hadn't made you learn in the mirror!* *In animals as in humans, self recognition in a mirror is not innate.* It is the result of the more comfortable training in the mirror at home among young humans in the company of their parents who have done this training and who have the words to explain to their young child the properties of the mirror. To do this training, one must be exposed to one's reflection many times and examine it quietly: one's face, body and the gestures (attitudes) it copies. This learning in the mirror can last several weeks and it is only around the age of 2 years that the young human understands that in the mirror it is not a play partner who makes the same movements as he does. An adult human, facing a mirror for the first time in his life, while unaware of its properties and even its existence, would also behave irrationally. It is only the lack of knowledge of the mirror that makes him react in this way. A video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cG87HaiO9Ys.html , from the report of Jean-Pierre Dutilleux, on a first contact with the Toulambis tribe in Papua New Guinea shows adult dads who were afraid to see themselves in a mirror. Among primates, in the insecurity of the jungle learning with his parents who have not done this and who do not speak, this is much more difficult even for intelligent individuals. *While mirror training can be successful in some blackback gorillas (females, adolescents and children),* after a long practice in mirror in laboratory as in wild, it is *compromised among silverbacks* where looking another silverback, or its reflection, straight in the eyes is a sign of defiance, an attitude that these peaceful males avoid. *After many years of encountering these mirrors, this silverback has still learned that a silverback reflection does not present the slightest danger for him.* To date: only Humans, Orangutans, Chimpanzees, Bonobos, Gorillas (blackback but not any wild silverblack), Rhesus Macaques, Bottlenose Dolphins, Asian Elephants, Orcas, Grey parrots (African/Gabon grey Parrots) and Magpies have shown the ability to recognize their own reflections after an even long training in the mirror for some ones. Three asian elephants in captivity at the Bronx Zoo in New York were standing in front of an huge mirror with each one two crosses just been drawn on their forehead. A white cross and a colorless cross. A only one named Happy, has touched with her trunk repeatedly the painted white cross but ignored the other colorless painted cross. The test failed with the other two. *No African elephant has so far passed the self recognition test in a mirror. No cat as leopard, tiger or homecat, no dog passed this test.* Please read the description attached to each of my 180 videos published on my RU-vid channel you will know very interesting informations about animals reactions front of my mirrors in the jungle ru-vid.comvideos

This leopard is in love with the mirror. The elephants didn't fall for it. If this mirror is left there for a long time, that leopard could die from starvation.

In felines, lions are genetically programmed to live in a pride while leopards are genetically programmed to live alone. Lone lions are males who have been driven from the pride. Leopard is lone animal. So this male leopard doesn't feel alone. This leopard wants to fight with a rival, an intruder in his territory who strangely has no smell! He dont search an odourless mate because to invite the females in heat, he just has to make a guttural sound called " sawing call ". This call also warns rival males not to enter his domain: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RLus4bTWzfM.html He can even spend the night in front of a mirror by checking from time to time for the presence of his reflection in the mirror. At that time this leopard is still in love with himself: watch this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0zVJlesWW_s.html on which the time stamp mentions the recent date of 04/17/2019 (In the Gabon jungle, a leopard in love with his reflection stays stuck to the mirror for 3 full days). For leopard fanatics, I publish a 19-minutes long video containing all the leopard's trap camera shots (assembled end to end) in front of this mirror from 13 PM before his meeting with elephants, during the face to face and after until he left the mirror at 23PM ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aYkF84-adOo.html Also a second short version taken by another trap camera of a different brands and under slightly different angle of view, have already been published ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-taoJDXZQx5s.html Don't forget to read the description attached to each of our 180 videos published on our channel : ru-vid.comvideos

*After reading numerous comments calling for the dismantling of these cruel mirrors,* I have no desire to try such an experiment just to publish a video in order to amuse some Internet users and risk causing a silverback to be traumatized and may be my mirrors to be broken. Watch more of my 180 homemade videos published on my channel ru-vid.comvideos and read the description attached to each of them. You will find very interesting information about the reactions of the animals in front of my mirrors in the gabonese jungle: Good vision! Here are the GPS points of these mirrors: number 1: S 00+06'40,6" E009+21'40,4" number 2: S 00+06'40,7" E009+21'41,8" number 3: S 00+06'47,5" E009+22'08,9" number 6: S 00+05'41,1" E009+19'45,1" Have a nice trip!

*_"Pobre animal torturado"! "cruelmente maltratado"! "mentalmente desorientado"! "Traumatizado"! "Confuso"! "Perturbado"! "Stressado"! "Assediado"!
