I have seen these three times in the twilight hour in Laporte, Indiana Mike. They were amazing. Astronomers were complaining so it’s not common to see them now.
May the winds be with you Captain. Hopefully I get to become a Cadet and with the slightest of chance I get to fly in one of these magnificent Queens right on the edge of their retirement.
I was like 8 or 9 when the 747 was the new thing and we had to drive up to LAX to see em because as a rule they weren't allowed to land in San Diego and for years I thought it was because the runway wasn't long enough. But found out later it's because SAN airport wasn't setup to to accommodate them. I always thought that was weird since we could handle the L-1011 and DC-10? Oh well it is what it is and was what it was. I think it was more something to do with that SAN wasn't international in the older day people went to LA for those flights. (?)
Greetings, dear Captain! This video reminds me of my flight from Kinshasa to Pointe Noire at night. Thank you and all good wishes. Please be safe, always.
The avoidance maneuver was due to weather conditions, and a GPS inhibit was implemented. Subsequently, when the terrain override button was pressed, the audio was cut. The video was taken to send to the company. They attach great importance to spoofing reports, and we are providing additional support with the video.
The 747-400 is an amazing airplane that of course I have flown many times. But I have to tell you for the times I have flown the 747SP is a very quirky kind of airplane. From what I remember, they were doing the SP from Chicago to Korea or perhaps to some other Asian country. I’ve worked SP before, and I have to say I was very pleased with the airplane, although all of the flight attendants glasses, and accessories are totally all over the place.
747.... my favorite number. Still the king of passenger planes. Wasn't allowed, but could have broken Mach1 on it's maiden flight and can double as a troop and heavy cargo carrier.
Why.. to touch the throttles and hold to it? Don’t you fly with autothrottle? At Lufthansa no one was glued.. to the throttles. Same with that Belgian guy from Cargo 747.
Our company provides us with these blue t-shirts that have the company logo and job description on them to make us more comfortable on long flights. 💫👍
