Lab tech for 33 years. Managed a full service lab for 17 years, and owned my own full service lab. There's a much easier, better way to do this. If you still have anterior teeth, which is the case here, you would really want to grind off one side (in this case it would be the patients right side, since #9 is in relatively good shape). Then, you set the upper side you just ground on, matching the opposite quadrant as far as whatever is left (i.e. lengths of laterals or cuspids that might still be present). The most important thing, though, is matching the adjacent central. Then, once this quadrant is set, you grind off the adjacent quadrant's teeth, set those in line with what you just setup on the other side, and then use your plane to make sure they are horizontally level. Then, you can grind off ALL the lowers and set to upper. NOTE: this way is ONLY going to work if the patient has a decent #8 or #9 or even laterals and cuspids would work sort of. If they are missing all the front uppers, then you can do it like above with the measuring and whatever, but typically the patient would have had a Flipper(temporary partial) that they are wearing, and the clinician should take an impression of the upper with it in place. Then you can measure the teeth and just pick the corresponding tooth card that matches the L and W. Or, if there are still enough lowers where you can hand-articulate the pre-op to the lower, you can just mark your upper teeth placement on the lower(that's why you grind them off last). If none of that exists, then at that point, you'd just look for tooth pockets or creases in accordance to your landmarks like the incisive papilla and median palatal suture line and begin your setup there. There really is no reason to have to measure, scribe lines, then pick random teeth, hold them up and measure them, then measure then rinse and repeat. ugh. so tedious.
@sscot720 This video is just for demonstration, not for sale. Your dentist won't give you your mold, no matter what! Once they take the mold they will send it to their lab (unless they have in-house) to have your partial made. I know how expensive they are, I paid $1200 for one with three teeth! The palate is metal and the teeth are on wires and I hate it! I went on Amazon and paid $100 for a kit and made one myself, it's somewhat similar to this video. It comes with the impression kit, pink wax, pink acrylic, different sets of teeth (individual teeth and on wires) that are a couple different shades for easy matching. The steps are very similar to what you just saw, it was actually really easy. Mine don't look as flawless as his, but when I put it in the teeth are the perfect shade match and you can't tell it's a partial. Since you are only needing one tooth, if I were you I would order the kit before you go and have the tooth pulled and that way as soon as it's healed you can make your partial and not have to go very long missing a tooth. DO NOT try to make the mold until you heal from the extraction because you run the risk of infection of you get that material into your open gum. Just go on Amazon and search at home denture kit. I promise you it's easy, I am not craft at all and I did it with zero problems! Good luck to you and I hope you have an easy extraction! Also, if you decide to make your mold before your gums heal (I did it. Won't lie!) make SURE that you rinse your mouth until you get everything out

😂😂😂😂 if you hold your hand piece like a pen your a amateur. Why do u use a stone bore in stead of a cross toothed bore made of hardend metal? For me this is so laughable to see. 😂😂😂😂 Sorry to say this man but what the hell are u doing? Stop posting vids untill you have learned the right way of doing stuff😅😅😅😢
Why the yellow is natural? Er färbt es bestimmt damit es natürlich aussieht, wenn es im Mund ist wir es so oder so Verfärbung geben und vorgefärbt wird schlimmer.
I recently had one made while I'm healing from a bone graft, it came in and didn't fit at all so I have to wait 3 to 4 weeks for a new one. I'm so self conscious about it😔
