I love listening to your storys. Miss those hours you chatting with Mum either by phone or in person whilst visiting Kawerau. Yours and Mums wit was priceless. Fixed firmly in my heart is everything you did. I knew every word in every song you sung. You nurtured me throughout my whole and Ive never told you. So heres hoping you see this. Id love to visit you. Maybe Connie's my ticket to you. Agape love Moana❤
Normie, idk if you'll read this. But Yes, I understand about a 'lifeless' human who once was.. No way do I understand completely, yet, I'll tell you my experience albeit very different to yours. My Dad brought me into the world....just Mum, Dad & Me being Born. Yet, when it came to my Dad leaving this World, I held him securely. Dad breathed his last breathe in his own bed at Home (Dad's Wish). Dad was gone. Dad brought me into this World ( with Mum of course 🤣). I was Privileged To be with Dad in his passing. That's it Normie. A Privilege really to help our loved ones to cross over. Sad it is. Hope you understand my message of love 🙏
Saw John live at the International Hotel in Rotorua, He was brilliant then and this was before he went big time around the rest of the world. Kiwi from Virginia
Oh man ....love this bloke ..didn't know went thru all this ..shell shock ..PTSD ..far out .. thank you normie ...thought he was just singer performer ...see ... it ain't necessarily so !
Normie, I highly recommend that you read 'Saved by the Light of the Buddha Within' (the extraordinary life story of one of the fellow artists that you performed beside back in the 1960 and how he changed his poison into medicine).
Respect 100 percent that's the first time I've heard guppa ray talk about his service , to both you fine gentlemen I thank you both for your service and guppa ray for being the greatest grandfather to my baby girls love for ever and 2 days Raymond Heathcote
Normie was made an example of by the Liberal government and deliberately sent off to Vietnam back in the 1960s. They need to pay him millions of dollars in compensation for ruining his life.
G’day Normie. We were in Country at the same time, different Units. Both Nash’os. If you can remember the time you spent some time on stage at a Bruce Rock West Aus concert for Vet’s. my Wife was the one who spoke to you on stage. Hilarious at the time, Bruce rock collapsed as we all faded away. I guess we all fade away Normie, but we NEVER FORGET. “ up the old red rooster Normie”. Stay safe Mate. Bloody Gallopin’ Grasshoppers.
His action that won his the Victoria Cross is so similar Forrest Gump's action in the movie, witch won Gump USA equivalent of VC, Medal of Honor. I often wonder did Winston Groom, author of the book that the movie is based on, knew about Keith Payne and what he had done ?
It's very likely that he would know about Mr Payne through researching the time period the for relevance to make sure everything is correct and Awards like the VC were widely reported and recorded, never mind the rest of his Medals 🏅and probably more widely reported because of the Number of Medals and Citations that he got...
Man, that was heavy, but Normie Rowe was fantastic here. Such a strong mind, when I stress, the first thing I reach for is a beer. Glad I have never had to go to a war. My old man did (WW2) and he had a lot of problems adjusting to normal life after what he went through. War has to be an absolute last resort. A lot of people are itching for another one with China. Well, if that's the case, then, are they going to volunteer to send their kids to that war? As for Normie's short pop career, I still reckon his version of 'Shaking all Over' is the best version of that song, even better than the Who's version. I think the original was Johnny Kidd and the Pirates??
He wouldn't need to be told to put a Mask on because he'd already be wearing one, it's about protecting others as well as yourself and no Military is Mission ready if they are falling sick and dying because of an infectious disease and the Military is Vaccinated for the same reason, (Spoiler Alert! Because Keith Payne is Vaccinated for all infectious Diseases, from Polio through Malaria, TB to Disentery) i served in the US Army and have friends in the British Military and we're all Vaccinated, a US Aircraft Carrier was put out of Action last year because Trump didn't take appropriate action to ensure that the Crew was tested and wearing Masks, this has been corrected now and every Service Member is being Vaccinated and if they refuse then they are restricted to the States until they have been Vaccinated for Covid, the Pfizer Vaccine has now been approved now and taken off the Emergency approval list, there's no reason to not be Vaccinated now it's perfectly safe and I was Vaccinated in March, Rupert Murdock was Vaccinated in December and he flew into Britain especially for the early emergency approval..
Normie loved you when you hit the music scene back in the 60’s. I was called up for Vietnam but Gough saved me. I often wonder how different my life would have been. I passed you at the Blues Festival at Broadbeach a few years ago and you stuck your hand and shook mine. I’ll never forget that, you didn’t know me from a bar of soap. I wish you all the best for the future mate.
As lame as it sounds nowadays, it still comes from the heart, 'Sir, and those like you! Thank you for your service!' I have family on both sides who have served in both World Wars. And, have a brothe-in-law who serves in the Canadian Infantry.
