Been doing this since before you were born! I've amassed a collection of over 50,000 signed cards! Some suggestions. A nice respectful letter helps with a thank you for signing. Do not put a return address on your SASE. Not necessary and players don't wan't to get your cards back. Make the UPS deliver it to your house. One stamp on the big envelope is enough. You can send up to 6 or 7 cards (not recommended) along with a letter and SASE with one stamp. Do not use a card saver. Players don't want to mess with these. Also your auto can get smeared when putting it back in and I've even got signed card sleeves back, not the cards signed. Also the automated machinery at the USPS can mangle the letter and card. 2 or 3 cards max to the bigger athletes, check other collectors results. Generally, the bigger the star the fewer they sign. You cannot believe how much mail these people get on a daily basis so don't get greedy. Consider adding a $5 "tip" for some difficult players. Enjoy!! It's addicting.
I just a 50% gem rate on my last order. Good thing is all the BIG cards got the 10. But the bad news is the other cards which were in excellent condition got 7 and 8’s. It’s insane how they come up with these grades. I can’t complain though because I got a 10 on a card I just threw in there to get slabbed. It was a Haaland Auto 🙏🏾
