Why would Niki Smith not be familiar with being in the library in the lanfair mansion? When Niki spent many times in the library from the past. There was a storyline where Niki actually shot Victor Lord with a gun right in the library. Of course Victor didn’t press charges against her daughter Viki.
It's crazy how this is ten years before they re-write Victor abusing Viki, but it seems like Robin and Erika were already playing it under the surface. They don't make soaps like this anymore. This is 10/10.
My favorite part was every time someone accessed the secret room, the bookcase would slowly shut by itself - almost giving this haunting quality to the story.
This is definitely 1985 and kind of the beginning of Paul Rauch's OLTL and the tone it would have going into the 2nd half of the 80's... Its kind of interesting because it is right before the background music that we all rave about was overhauled and added- The show still has that slow moving and old fashioned vibe that OLTL had from 1980-1984, but the signs are all there for that fast moving addictive/contemporary show that it became soon after... 1985-1989 OLTL was the best.
Actually, you left out the whole seventies and Judith Light and all the great storylines of that decade. IMO better than the eighties. Sad those times are lost.
One Life To Live was so Awesome back then. General Hospital and AMC all were good. Love Vicky personality storyline. Ereka Sleyzek can and has always delivered great acting. No wonder she won so many great acting nods.
Although Dorian started out shady, I always thought that Dorian was misunderstood especially by Viki. My opinion was made firm when the other altars came out later. Hearing Dorian's confession did not make me see her as the bad guy in this.
Ok, so why didnt Viki splinter off then? I mean, wouldnt or shouldnt Jean Randolph, Tori, Princess, Tommy, and Victor (lol) have come storming out then??
This secret room is just one event; upsetting but not devastating. You have to remember all the events that led up to Viki's splintering in 1995: Dorian was put on trial for Victor's murder, David Vickers came to town claiming to be Victor's long lost son and Dorian was acquitted, Dorian then seduced Joey, Viki began having flashbacks of her mother's death, Sloane died, Viki learned David was a fraud and THEN Dorian revealed that Victor had molested Viki since she was a child (an event she repressed and was the underlying cause of her DID)! Viki's psyche had been under constant attack for over a year and she was not as strong as she usually would be and she shattered.
The secret room was downstairs (basement level) we find this out later when Jean Randolph (another Viki alter) had the secret room rebuild and kept Dorian in a cage So the door would be across from the other door, leading to the basement.
Yes, Viki knew of Nothing at this point, except that Tony was Victor's son from a World War II romance. She just recently before this scene saw the letter that Tina is his daughter.
Hair Here a rough outline in the early yrs Victoria Lord set the moon by her father Victor Lord and sought to please him even to the point have having a nervous breakdown and she couldn''t face the truth of what Victor really was, Viki must have blocked out the memories of the molestion by creating the alters my question has always been since we all found out is Did Victor molest Meredith her younger sister
Actually Jenny's first married name was Siegel as her maiden name was Wolek. She had married Tim Siegel, played by Tom Berenger from Major League, on his deathbed after he got into a nasty fight with Vinnie who blamed Tim for Jenny leaving her life as a nun. Jenny and Karen were cousins of Larry, Vinnie and Anna which got retconned to be distant cousins so it wouldn't be as creepy for Larry and Karen to be lovers.
@Junkay2 Because at this time, Dorian thought that Viki remembered Victor's abuse, but was keeping it a dark secret out of shame. Dorian didn't bring it up because it wasn't the main issue -- Tina claiming to be Victor's daughter was the big problem. It wasn't until their argument 10 years later that Dorian realized that Viki had repressed all of those traumatic memories since childhood.
Unbelievable. Thank you for explaining because my first question was why on earth in 1995 did they act like this was all brand new. OLTL was amazing. Storylines playing out for decades!!!! Loved this show and miss these characters dearly.
I'm a little fuzzy with this, did Viki not realize her father molested her until 1994? She seems to think Victor is awesome in this clip. I'm currently trying to catch up on the Victor Lord stuff with this show and it is damn confusing!
