@@albert.2160 Yeah I was a little surprised he didn't do better at the Japan cypher. That's two years in a row he's gone out early. Hoping he really goes crazy next year.
That's easily the most exciting thing about Haruto, he has these really creative freezes and transitions between moves. He's a really interesting bboy.
Been meaning to comment- thanks for all the work you do. It used to be pretty difficult to stay up on the Japanese scene back in the day (as somone who doesn't speak Japanese). Nowadays I can just head to your channel. The effort you put into the descriptions really help as well. Keep up the great work 👊 Haruto is fire.
Thanks, it's always great to hear. This channel was actually started because I went overseas and I was talking about Bboy Wu-tan's style, but I couldn't find a single video online. Also nice spot on the descriptions. I've actually been trying to do that more to explain why some of these guys are regarded so highly on the scene.
I think that's fair. Bboy Grow has solid toprocks, but it is crazy hot hot so maybe he was worried about gassing himself out. With a few more speed changes Zomi could be a monster for sure
Agree with thr other comment. Just going by pure stats/battle record alone, Top 3 should be guaranteed. Eye test wise, I can see a number of competitors eliminating him early. (Hong 10, Amir, Lee, Phil, Victor, Dany, Lithe-ing can steal his spot on the podium)
Yeah, we saw that with Flea Rock, Shigekix hadn't quite got into his groove and ended up taking the L when FR busted a round with a completely new flava. I could see a similar thing happening at the Olympics with someone like Amir, Phil or Dany because those guys can sometimes come up with some wild styles and moves.
Although Lithe-ing is dope, he lacks that element of surprise to me at least. I think he's dope, but mostly it's styles, flows and moves that I've seen before just done at a very high level. I also think Hong10 would be a W for Shigekix as Hong suffers from the fact that everyone has seen him so many times he'd need something insane to surprise anyone these days, lol.
I think at the Olympics it will go to the consistent bgirls rather than the bgirls who are less consistent, so definitely think 671 has a good chance. Ayumi has a strong chance too just because she is so consistent. I can't remember the last time I saw her crash, lol. She also has the experience and that will count for a lot under the pressure of the Olympics. That said, I think Ami has the consistency and the ability to appeal to all generations of judges, that I suspect she will get the medal over Ayumi too.
Haha, love the fact that people are rediscovering these old battles. I remember thinking these too were dope at the time, but now they are next level amazing.
@@AsiaDanceScene glad to see that you like it, it's thanks to this that we see how long the road is to reach their level and that you have to do hard work.
He's in a good shape and able to get to top 3 but the problem is, everyone already knows his moves and wouldn't be as surprised as in 2020 BC One. I don't expect to see much more moves left in the pocket. While his abilities are amazing, creativity isn't the strongest one and nearly everything is scripted. It's sad especially considering his perfomances in 2020-2021 - he was more loose, had more whip (subjectively) and danced more. Don't know much about the judging system though: what will count the most. Expectations are, we're about to see a skill contest rather than a classic bboy battle. The majority of audience simply won't understand. Either way, for the past couple of years we've seen some rising prospects and serious rivals to Shigekix (in terms of skills). You know the names already.
I worry about that too. A lot of the Olympic qualifiers had some wack music that was basically just an 8-eight with a guitar. When the music is simple like that, it is harder for guys like Shigekix who used beat kills to get their moments than guys that have very choreographed styles. He also suffers a bit from most of his big moves being pretty well known, whereas guys like Amir and Phil Wizard may well have some big surprise to bring out that could make the difference in the big battles.
Did you see their battle against Break Amibition from Korea a 2 months back? That was cool, because guys like Kaku and Ryoma turned up who I haven't seen battling together for a long time
Next Generation is doing well. Sekisho was fire at the jam last month, Rin is the main team now, and Kid Quick got to the top 4 at BOTY. Ruivo might be my pick from that crew as he has get really good lately.
@@AsiaDanceScene Do you uploading their battle @ Korea.? If it so, I must have missed it because I haven't see it. Surely I am going to watch Ryoma and Kaku, it can't be missed. Thanks FYI.
@@AsiaDanceScene I thought his name is Ruvio before you mentioned it. yea, I just notice Ruivo recently. I'm glad their growing and hopefully still solid. It's just been a while that I haven't saw them together like Rin, Yoo, Shoya, and Satsuki at crew battle. That's maybe why I'm asking the question.
Yeah, I love that style too. When done right it looks really cool. I talked to Ken Swift about it and our shared love of old kung fu movies. Apparently that was a big influence on creating this style.
@Asiadancesscene Ayyyy yo, ay Yoooo koncrete respect going out to southwest mandem Mattski. Bruv japan, korea just pure lock down with Bboys spinning off production line Keep holding it down 🇬🇧💙my man in 🇯🇵🙏
Yeah, bruv. It is crazy right now. I can barely remember all the names of these dope cats these days there are so many. My last compilation had a ton of ??? next to bboys/bgirls, lol.
