The musical Phantom of the Opera was by Andrew lloyd Webber but the original novel was by Gaston Leroux in 1909 So A.L.W did not create it. I remember watching F.O.T. Opera the film back in 60's in black and white long before A.L. Webber even conceived the idea of a musical.
