I have a few with "just" one pickup - if the guitar itself is good & responsive, you can get tons of goodness out of one pup.... 😎👍 I dare you to go even without volume or tone - pure RAW power into your amp 🤘😜🤘
I did that for a while as well! My Strat had another pickguard without any holes, so I just went for it 😜🤘 Took a good humbucker & 1 switch to go from coils in series to parallel. No volume, no tone. Worked great & far more versatile than you'd think 😎👍
Wow. _"I didn't play slowly | I've been playing FAST since I was a kid. I'm lucky... I have innate fine motor skills!"_ Yes, and that's why after all these years you're still sloppy and have poor technique. Speed isn't the end all, it's how you perform when going fast. I too started off fast and was a quick study all by ear. Was playing Randy Rhodes note for note. But I sounded just like you until I started slowing down enough to practice technique / feel / dynamics. Since you seem to think slow = easy, learn SRV's Little Wing. The ultimate separator of the men and boys You'll find you don't have the mechanics to impress serious guitar players with that speed either because it's all about technique, feel and dynamics, 3 things you don't have.
I was at the concert of Lee Joe band in 2007 where He performed Little Wing by Jimi Hendrix ;) Man, I'm telling you, it was masterpiece! And of the recent cover versions I liked this one - Nadia by Jeff Beck: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-piJvgOwxLWU.htmlsi=6MBI2GL5TiRszvDu Now, what do you say?
But we're not here to talk about sound quality, we are talking about formation of performance skills, mastering the basic techniques of sound extraction on the guitar. Lee Joe has a brilliant technique and high skill. Bravo, Master!
