So yesterday was a perfect example of a 5 min chat with a stranger. Went for a ride with Phil over hills to Oldham. We stoped at a little sandwich shop which had an out side seating area. Too ladies, came and sat down at next table. The older of the two started a conversation with “have you come far?” and then mentioned another cafe - Willingham Woods where she sees lots of bikes and asked if we ever visited there. We do! 4 strangers engaged for a brief moment - it’s what travel is all about, even on a motorcycle. Ride safe.

Hai. There is a lot to be said for reasons to ride a motorcycle. Just for fun, getting from a to b. Or clearing ones head of a bad mood or thoughts. I stopt riding for at least 15 years after i got on my motorcycle while being in a dark place. Back then i was almost always angry with myself, the world and everybody els. The day that would end my riding for years i was in really bad place. I wanted to knock someones head off for just looking at me. I got on my motorcycle and just opend up from the first corner. I knew and its still the case , i am a magnet for for getting into sticky traffic situations. 7 out of 10 not my fault. Yeh i do also fuck up at times. Anyway, riding that day did not help much to clear my head so i headed back home doing around 100km a hour. Set out to pas a line of cars . There was enough space for me to get back on the right lane untill the mf in the last car started to speed up closing the cap between cars. The rest behind him did the same thing. I knew he had seen me with my flashing indicators. I saw him looking at me. He just did not give a shit. I started to fall back but there was a f......g line of cars all of sudden and no space given for me. Uncoming traffic ahead came ever closer and i knew there was no where left to go but in the middle between cars doing 100 or more km a hour .The dark place and anger i was trying to get rid of going for a ride just went into overdrive. I got so f......g mad i rode up the mf that forced me into that situation and made sure he saw me and gave him the vinger. Useles i know. With nowhere to my only thought was there we go this might be the last ride.i opend up with cars both side of me . When it happens than with high speed and be over quik was the only thought i hade .i never gave it a thought wat could happen to the people in the car i could smash into.i was in a dark place and did not care anymore. I did not!!! and never have concidred suicide. I just belived at that moment my time was up. I closed my eyes and waited for what i thought would be the end. I felt a slight bump and my motorcycle shudderd a bit and i opend my eyes seeing the left mirror bend inwards. How just my mirror got hit and not my handlebar is still a mysterie to me. Even that at the time did not shook me up. I just thought you lucky basterd. A car to my right must have the shit show and gave me space to pull over. I was still so f mad i did not thank that person for more than likely saving my life. I got home, shuffed the motorcycle in the shed and never touched it again ending up selling it. I did not become scared of riding or anything. Something just changed and till this day i do not know what. I started riding again of and on five years ago. But its never bin the same sins. I cant get up and just ride a bit anymore. I still need to clear my head from time to time. But now i need a set destination to ride to ride to. Even if it is just a gas station 100km away. The fun in just get up and ride a bit hase dispeard that on that shit show day. I am in the proces of trying to ride more again but am well aware it will never be the same again. And i know i cant force the feeling back because that might pull me back into a darker past. So i just go with the flow trying not to be to much of a 60 year old grumpy bastard. There as many reasons to ride a motorcycle as you can think of how ever strange the reason might be.

Don't need bike meets, thanks. Ask yourself why, for example, a pizza delivery rider won't show up at them. I've seen 125 riders (under 20 years old) on modern 125s tarted up to look sporty sit around and grimace and smoke a cigarette trying to fit in. There's nothing going on at them apart from awful rock cover bands and terrible food. I think they're judgmental places, inherently. Some guy drives a forklift truck, buys a Harley, tarts it up, and goes to the bike meet. He fits in like a glove! But nobody else does.

@@rupertbollywood1190 the bike’meets’ I mention are casual cafes serving a full english and coffee. Not organised Biker rally type events. You do get youngsters and wanna bees attracted by some Hollywood image but they either eventually get it or move on. We all started somewhere and for different reasons. For me part of the attraction is the casual interaction with like minded souls. Some of my other videos show the type of places I’m talking about. If riding alone is your thing then I get that too, I prefer riding alone some days but wanted to explore the different levels of positive mental benefits motorcycling brings. Ride safe and choose your own road - life is for the ride not the destination!

@@barnsleybikervideodiary7694 This is true. Unfortunately, you have to separate yourself from bikers, to enjoy motorcycling. In most internet forums, you see the display of the most intolerant views imaginable, among bikers. Animal abuse, racism, Islamophobia (I'm not a Muslim but I hate to see people who are mostly OK get dehumanised). That's just daily life on Bikechatforums, for example. They will go to Calne bike meet and MAG meets, etc. At a local level though, in pockets in places like Yorkshire, local bike nights can be good and you meet people there, I'm sure. But on the whole, motorcyclists tend to be bad people rather than good. Separating oneself from them and just riding is the essence of motorcycling fun. It is a solitary hobby. I went to a few big bike events. At Calne the egos were out of control - nobody really interested in bikes but more interested in being seen. One guy walked past my bike and said "fudgepacker". He wasn't talking about me or my bike but I just thought, you know what, I've nothing in common with that yob despite being into bikes. I am tolerant and have no issues with anyone. At another, I had to assert myself to get served a hamburger - these guys in a club wanted to push in front of me but I wasn't having it. At a small local bike night I took out my phone to photograph some bikes and got evil stares from some old people who were hangers-on to a notorious MC. I put the phone away. These people have nothing in common with me. I do bike projects and I have books about engines and motorcycle engineering, and watch videos on the subject. Unfortunately, bikers as a whole are just the worst, and they're completely unaware of it.

A very weird take on motorcycling and your reasons and logic are way off deep down unconsciously . Trauma plays a unconscious part to motorcycling ,donning a helmet as you would in space and travelling through the universe just as you are repeating the need to escape reality ,reality has become to painful for most and we feel trapped by the laws of the elite who own you by a number, they are 10 steps ahead of you when it comes to why you ride ,being vulnerable as a schizoid narcissist with ocd .ie . Covert narcs ,escaping into your heads is the number one tool ,for coping with trauma issues .and the feeling that you know you feel nothing except speed and the wind ,exists ,but you know that there are times you wonder if you do .your have an eternity to do that at the speed of light one day .THE EMPTINESS IS THE VOID IN SCHIZOID ,THE WITHDRAWAL OF THE HURT CHILD ,TRYING TO BECOME ,WHEN IN FACT ,YOU ARE NOTHING AND EVERYTHING IS NOTHING ,ONLY THE ILLUSION OF SOMETHING EXISTS THRO YOUR DELUSION IT MANIFESTS .EVERYTHING IS THE UNIVERSE ,WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? LIFE WILL ALWAYS BE BIGGER THAN YOU .KEEP ASKING QUESTIIONS ………..WHY?

There are better thread repair inserts than Heli-Coil Look for the ones that are like a solid insert instead of the wire coil types Some have a rim around one end of the insert and the tools that come with them include one that cuts a recess for this rim You might find these solid inserts are a little larger than a Heli-Coil and may be suitable to repair your exsisting head
