Thanks for the video. Integrating Arcade with Python using the ArcGIS API enhances workflows by leveraging Arcade's data manipulation skills alongside Python's advanced analysis, automation, and custom app capabilities.
Impressive demonstration of SAM's cutting-edge geospatial technology! The use of advanced tools like LiDAR for precise data collection is truly remarkable.
Very exciting technology. GIS is moving more and more into 3D so I am sure this will be very interesting to many not only in the electrical industry but other sectors of Geospatial users as well.
We agree on all counts. This tech is expanding to many markets and sectors. There are so many uses that can improve operations, reporting and emergency response. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great video. Very informative. I see these substations around from time to time but did not understand their importance. Thanks for helping to educate.
great video... do you have a new video of how work the new "CHANGE FIELD MAPPING" below the "Export Feature" tool... is hard to understand!!and cant find any tutorial o Help in the app. thanks and congrats
Some great information in this video. This will make a great resource to help explain geodatabases to non-GIS types and those just getting into GIS. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the great video! I might add, if there's a selection applied to the feature class, only those features that are selected will be exported to the shapefile. I think there's normally a warning in the export pane that warns you of that.
You are welcome. So happy you liked the video. You are correct, according to Tripp, that if you have features selected in the layer/feature class you have set as the input that it will only export those features that are selected. It does show a warning when you have selected features but it is easy to miss that warning if you are not paying attenting. Thanks for mentioning this behavior! It is a good point for folks to know.
With Esri planning to stop support for ArcMap in 2026, this kind of how to information is a big help to the community as they work to migrate over to ArcGIS Pro. Thanks for putting this out there to help others.
Thanks for the information! Certainly helped my understanding. Always good to receive insight into the background and history of GIS. Especially from GIS professionals that have computers nearly older than myself. :P
So glad the video increased your understanding. Tripp also wanted us to let you know that was his first computer he talked about. His current computer is much newer and he built it himself.
Some great information presented here. Think this should be shared with anyone that works with GIS data especially if they are not a GIS professional. This video will provide a good foundational understanding of what a shapefile is and its limitations.
This is excellent info. I was trying to figure out how to do this the other day in Pro but finally gave up because I was on a tight deadline. I hope you are able to share more quick tips like this as time allows. Thank you so much Tripp!
So happy the video was helpful. We are working on others. If you have any ideas for topics please feel free to share them in a comment or reachout to Tripp via email.
@@SAMCompanies I definitely have ideas because while I'm pretty proficient in Pro after forcing myself to use it for the last two years, I still run into things I'd like to do but can't take the time to take a deep dive to figure it out. I'll reach out to Tripp or comment! Thanks again!
