That was the big concern before the teams arrived. However at the speeds they were going the ram air effect pretty cancelled out the altitude loss. Then the track in Bolivia was extremely better than Bonneville on it's best day. On a scale of 1-10 Boneville has been a 3 compared to Bolivia (a 10) on the multiple times I've been to Boneville.
What size hole did you drill on the top of the fire extinguisher and did you use the fitting the old vacuum cleaners came with or did you add something there
The orange hole saw is a 2-1/8" or 54mm. Yes I believe it's the part from the old vacuum. Then the additional parts are connected to the red rubber ring which is a JOBY suction cup (cut apart). However you can easily replace the suction cup ring with a 2" pvc cap with rubber tape.
I am re-creating this build. Just started. I have the Electrolux vacuums. I have many questions regarding some of your parts. Do you happen to have a detailed list? I assume Home Depot was a go to for a lot of the stuff? Thanks for any help!
That is fantastic! My biggest questions to start are length of PVC pipe for fire extinguisher canister, what were those funnels used for the exhaust, and how long are the handle arms. Unfortunately I do not have Photoshop to determine sizes of certain things and I do not have a 3D printer. So I will be using real parts and cutting sanding wood plastic Etc
My build will be close to this however I will take a few liberties with design parts. It will be as close as I can get it I think. your channel is fantastic thank you
The frame would hold an elephant ffs… good thing because when the old lady gets as big as an elephant all he has to do is use steel cables instead of rope😂😂😂😂 gotta build for future fat -proofing😂😂😂
Actually this is address in the "15 Questions with Al Lamb" video. The answer isn't what you think. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2ZtBk-QqgJI.htmlsi=U-52lmaOmJ8ix9L0
As fast as these guys are going it's still not that impressive because you're just throwing parts on a machine and going fast that's it, anyone can do that. But taking a 1920 Indian Scout motorcycle that was never meant to top 50 mph and making it do well over 200 mph, like the legendary Burt Munro did back in the day is not only beyond insane but is basically alien like, out of this world even to this day. Today Burt is still and will always remain the greatest and most legendary rider/racer to ever grace this earth but he is also the best mechanical and engineering genius to ever live. Nobody will ever come even remotely close to topping the Legend, Burt Munro. I can really get into all the details on what makes Burt the best ever but there's no need to because his name speaks for itself.
As great as Burt is, hes not that impressive because hes just a hunk of meat sitting on a motorcycle, anyone can sit on a bike. But taking 4 motorcycles and strapping them together along with an F1 Saturn rocket engine and riding around the curve of the earth like the legendary Giovanni Giorgio (everyone calls him Giorgio) is legendary
@TasmanianTigerGrrr Are you for real?. You must be joking because that's the most clown statement i've ever heard. Giovanni Giorgio is not even real, the audacity you have to not only talk weird and utter nonsense about a real legendary racer, speed legend and record holder who is a far smarter person than anyone alive today but also say a freaking meme of all things is actually legendary and more impressive when it's just a complete joke is mind boggling and astonishing, plus you know absolutely nothing about Burt as well. The word legendary is also not to be used for a joke or a meme, it's only reserved for the very few individuals that are the most phenomenal of people and that have achieved stuff so remarkable that it goes far beyond what any other person could ever accomplish. Burt is a Legendary racer, speed legend and record holder who has god-like skills in riding, engineering and mechanics. A 7 time record holder in New Zealand and a 3 time record holder at the Bonneville salt flats. A top record breaker and American motorcyclist of the year, a Sportsman of the year. A legend who's in 3 different motorcycle Hall of fames with a hit Hollywood movie and documentary about himself. Even many books about his legendary life story. A legend who is more famous and had more publicity than possibly any other racer in racing history, with himself in many magazines and articles, he was interviewed numerous times by news reporters over the years he ran at Bonneville. Burt Munro is definitely the most legendary racer ever and also the greatest of all time and he will always be that. So do not talk that way about Burt Munro again and don't ever call a fake dum meme legendary again.
As far as teams helping other teams in a pinch , Drag Racing is the very same even if you are going to race each other in the next round . i really enjoy what you are doing .
Shit ive been riding bikes my entire life minus the first 5 years of life. So 45 years now and Ive only managed to see 197mph on a cammed n tuned gsxr1k. I can only imagine what this feels like. Bad ass gentleman! Be safe go faster!
I am looking for a simple hammock stand & i found your video excellent to built & copy same construction & place this stand behind my Pick up truck, now i can relax every where in Thailand
I saw your cat house build video and went into your channel to see if you had any more pet or building videos and I ran into this one. I enjoy your creativity and would love to see more pet and build videos from you. I’m also subscribing to your channel because I believe in you. Continue creating!
Thanks :) I have two videos I've filmed and haven't edited yet. I hate editing :( However, I will get it done and more videos will be coming. I have multiple bird house, and cat house builds, plus a bunch of other random stuff.
Before they went there that was the big question. The ram air effect cancelled out the loss of horsepower from the thin air. There was definitely less drag. The course was 10x+ better than Bonneville. It was a smooth, solid, flat perfect thick salt surface. Bonneville has become extremely thin, patchy, bumpy, often with slushy sections. It was dramatically superior in Bolivia. I've filmed them at both locations.
The nicest part of this story comes at time 14:10 when the two are together, shaking hands and Mr. Lamb patting Mr. Hudson on the shoulder. Serious competition, but with friendship and full respect. There needs to be more people like these two gentlemen in the world. Especially in politics. What a beautiful story and video. Thank you so much for bringing this to us. Best wishes.
I'm watching right now on a big screen and this plan is really nice. I'm gonna build one tomorrow for a new customer on Curaçao. I'm excited. Thanks Zach!
There was only a 30'x30' building with a cross painted on it for a hospital that I saw in Uyuni. That was not great! The EMT service was also not great! La Paz is the only real hospital and it is a 7 hour drive. However, there was an airport about 10-15 minutes from the track. Only one flight a day :( Not sure how long a medivac would take. Altitude wasn't an issue at all for the engine horsepower needed. The ram air more than made up for that. Besides better hospital that's closer to the track by air, Utah can't compete with Uyuni. Uyuni is far larger, the surface is dramatically superior to Bonneville. Uyuni was like a massive perfectly smooth, solid runway that went on forever. Bonneville salt layer is increasingly becoming incredibly thin and just mud in spots. Bonneville has a ton of soft spots, rutts, and potholes which make it extremely dangerous. Ralph Hudson would later lose his life at Bonneville on a practice run far below the speeds he achieved at Uyuni. There will never be a motorcycle record at Bonneville that beats what Ralph and Al achieved at Uyuni. Bonneville's best days are behind it.
I don’t know how you got your slats for your roof to stay on. The plywood I bought has so many holes in it that when I try to attach a roofing piece to the plywood wall and the nail just won’t hold it in. I can’t start over; I’ve been working on this way too long to do that and it’s really big. I guess I’m going to try construction and he’s up before I put this whole thing on the trash pile. I learned my lesson about cheap plywood, but I’m not sure any of it’s any good these days. Still, your video is still an inspiration!
I didn't use plywood for the roof slats. At about 9:30 in the video you can see where I made the slats. I used old 1.5"x 3.5" pressure treated scraps of wood and cut them into 1/4" slats or strips. You could do the same with a 2x4 or 2x3. Cheap plywood really won't work. The sanded 1/" or 1/2" plywood might. The plywood might just be too soft for the finish nail gun. Try lowering the pressure on the nail gun. Also try using wood glue on the bottom first one and clamp it. After it dries you might be able to get more of them to stick/ stay in place with glue. Remember I make a lot of mistakes (watch some of my other videos). Just have a coffee, stare at the project, and try again. I'm sure your cat will love it no matter what.
@@ZachTheMaker well, thanks so much for your reply but I have watched your video so many times that I’m sure, I’m at least 100 of the watches on it. I’m sorry I can’t give it a thumbs up every time I watch it. LOL. I’m very aware of the whole video, and know that you did not make the slats out of plywood, but isn’t that what you’re brad nailing them or finish nailing them into… The edges of the walls? I’ve been working on this thing for a couple of years… In fact, it shows I commented on it a couple of years ago. 😳
