I think prot warrior has two excellent hero talent trees. I'm a little tired of DH after two seasons of it. I do have other tanks I'm interested in. Probably monk and druid. I expect to play all of the tanks at some point.
Hey, as someone who is returning to wow with TWW, and who also plans to main Prot warrior, I’ve enjoyed following the series. I hope warrior content continues to be enjoyable for you to produce, because I’ve I’ll be here to support your breakdowns. But, if I’m honest, fam. The mythic plus system terrifies me. Hearing how hours of your time were sinked because you’re playing an “out of meta” class or because of the calamity that pugs can be is disheartening. As an incoming tank, do you have any words of wisdom on how I should approach ambitious keys or the coming expansion in general? Thanks again. ❤
Hey thanks for this comment! I know alot of people are really nervous to do keys. Especially keys that are the highest youve ever done. As a newer tank the most important thing in my opinion is research. This can either be a plus or a minus to tanking depending on who you are but after learning your main rotation alot of your learning is done outside of the loop of the game. Looking up routes, understanding which mobs do what, understanding the mechanics that tend to wipe groups and trying to play around them. I personally watch quite a bit of content from higher end tanks. When it comes to pushing yourself to your limit, understanding that sometimes keys just fall apart and while it can feel like you are wasting hours sometimes this isnt really true and I should do better to be more positive in the future. Any time spent in a key is time spent learning and that learning is invaluable over the long run. As a tank you'll get quick ques and be able to fail fast and go again, this is the greatest strength of playing a tank. Join alot of keys and fail them quickly. Learn from those failures and improve. Addon wise I stay very light. Base UI, Plater for enemy nameplates, details for my meters, and that's basically it. I don't use weakauras ATM, I don't use DBM or bigwigs. I keep it pretty simple.
Amazing series. I’ve been playing WoW off and on for almost 20 years but never got into tanking. I am leveling a prot warrior right now, so this info is 100% going to come in handy!
lol the plan was to go to 2500. it kind of depends on how things look. with any luck ill get beta access and try to over some of that for videos but if not im def interested in still playing the warrior!
Cool vid, fun to see other prot warriors. The storm guy in AA can’t be spell reflected but it still helps with the magic dr. I alt a prot warrior and love it. Really dislike the DH lovers, because DH being so good lets every other non-tank spec be worse at the game lol
Tip if you want massive procs from the ring, craft the cloak and ring with shadowflame. If you can get the plate trinket from bullions it will be a massive win.
You won't be able to dodge block or parry while channeling the torch. This seems like more of an issue than it actually is. For the most part your taking grieftorch on a tank for specific prio damage and not just for general use on packs. You can still use it on packs if you know what your doing. Either a period of low damage, have the mobs be stunned, or have major defensives going. Largely I wouldn't recommend it for most tanks and took it mostly for the fun of it and because pugs will always reset it for you.
Based on what you show from you Dungeons, i can assume you dont really play pug Keys or try to make your routes work for different group setups. That lasher pull in AV on a low Key level with that Group comp was just not smart. You always assume, people dont kick or stun on lower diffs. If you cant solo control a pull, you dont pull it. Especially when the pull contains tons of mobs that just delete the group with a dot. Try to create Pug routes that dont require fancy movement / pulls / snaps and all that other stuff you see the 20+ key players do. Keep it simple. People in the 2-10 range are mostly new to the Season / their Class / the Dungeon and dont know what you are trying.
Hey thanks for the comment. You might have missed that 20+ isn't a thing any more and a current season 2 is equal to an old season 12. People in low key should 100% have some ideas of how to use stops and how pulls work. Of course I never assume they will use stops, utility, etc. but I also won't feel bad if they then die. Only way that they will learn.
Enjoyed the video was nice to see a prot warrior. A full series would be awesome showing like even professions to help gear. Really enjoyed it though and subscribed :)
be cool if you showed some of the full runs , your audience will feel more part of the adventure that way I think bro, I know the typical zero to KSM videos don't but I've always wished they had. You've got a good presence for YT though , keep it up ;)
Downloading this now! Across all of my saves/systems I've got about 250-300 hours of playtime in hades, if this game is even 10% as good as that game my social life might be in danger. I hope the multiplayer balances well, it would feel like a waste if a 4-player run is 4 times easier.
they are stupid idiots for killing trading of items. that is the whole thing about diablo franchise. D2 was great. then they killed the auction house in d3. now again, no trading of items. because they want to protect what? teen kids? come one. this is a dungeon game with evil and blood all over. we need a game that allows trading of items.
Imo d2 is one of the most interesting games ever when it comes to itemization and the way getting items actually works. Being able to farm items that have legitimate real work value is awesome but ultimately why they did kill trading. It's not to protect the kids lol. It's to help stop RMT.
You're 200% right. I always thoughts all those dramas and issues people have with D4 are somewhat silly because majority of them comes from those who want to grind the game for 24/7 for months. While personally I think D4 is a pretty good game to come back to every season or two for a couple of weeks, trying new class/build, finishing the season and then leaving. That way it feels fresh and fun.
Respect. Two things can be true at the same time: you had fun, and you're done for now. This is the beauty of seasonal content. Some seasons I stick around for the duration, some I play until I reach a point that I "feel" done. And with D4, there's always a new season every 90 days. No matter my progression I'll be taking a break with the FF7 Rebirth release anyways. Great video!
"End Game" doesnt mean the "game should end", "end game" is a term for a gaming loop that occurs after all forms of non min max progression have been completed. Its not a literal definition.
I followed a build guide from maxroll, on the build guide there is a paragon board for human lightning storm druid that helps with spirit management before your tempest roar. The guide writer is also a creator on youtube and I found the videos to be better to follow than the guide.
on my pala I never have issues with aggro , just swap to a 2H for divine storm and back. when not tanking myself I've never once had a rogue or warlock tank so it doesn't seem that popular
Everyone complains about Hunter dps pvp pve... i have never killed a warlock 1v1 that knew what he was doing with my geard warrior or hunter pre hunter nerfs. They can even drain after death. Warriors rogues and feral druids have topped dps charts since day one. With new phase launches, hunters are just going to get the nerfs removed because they don't scale, and 50%-75% of their dps is autoshot. Perfect example is comparing nax, aq40 top hunter dps to sod.
Imo shadow cleave should become a core ability even on single target, increase its cd and mana cost and make it a real ability with good damage so that at least you have an instant to press inbetween searing pain even on single target, could make it do full damage to your target and cleave for less for example
As a healer, Warriors are by far the best tank to heal at this stage in my experience, they take so much less damage and hold aggro so well. Can the other classes tank? sure but warriors make it much easier on the healer so far. Given the choice, I'd take a warrior tank to heal over any other class for ease and fun.
Was is my first Classic run, I played Vanilla tho and you are right, I'm not excited anymore to login back to my Tank Druid. Considering respec to Heal now.
I wouldn't give up on your druid. I know it might not be the best now but tank druid is missing a lot of things that they need right now. Future phases should help them out quite a bit. Play what you like.
I've had mages I can hold aggro off of but the ones that are decently geared and know what they're doing hit 500ish dps and there's truly no beating that
