same as my truck, its just all stock though. god i love that thing. im thinking about putting a flowmaster on mine, but i dont really want to put in the effort to dual exhaust it. i would love to drop a 302 in it or somehow get more power, but i think it would be smarter to just upgrade and get a different truck

I got the same ranger with the 2.9 4 inch lift with 33s also stock Dana 28 and I mud it and I never take it easy the only bad thing on these Dana 28 is 4x4 drive line and ball joints but for stock it does pretty good I got Dana 30s for mine but haven't got them switched over yet.

Everything matches but you will get lower compression with the SOHC pistons...they are flat..DOHC pistons are domed.

He's talking about pistons.....the DOHC pistons raise the compression with a SOHC head. I think it's like 10.3:1

I have a ford ranger 2.9 lifters tick in it BAD, i absolutely HATE that motor with a passion... I have another 1989 ford ranger that is 4x4 4cyl. I want to change the cab over from my truck to the 4x4 truck and lift it. Only thing is the one thats not 4x4 is supercab short bed, other is regular cab long bed. Anyone know if the bolts would line up right? Measurements the same or close?

sounds like it could be a bad iac valve...try cleaning it see if it helps any

its the injectors or the distributer is failing out
