Hello, when I press "Open controls" that Cinema Grade window does not open for me, it says : Is your video editing running?... any ideas what is wrong<? just bought it today and its not working...;-(
This is easier than what I used on my Mac with the terminal - Exiftools via home brew. I guess Exiftools has more options like create date vs modified date etc. But this. works for my idiotic GoPro 8 that ALWAYS doesn't remember the time and date! I will never buy a GoPro again.
Thanks for reviewing and putting together this content. How about the Aputure Light Dome Mini III or Light Dome III? Both fold down almost flat so would be great for travelling.
Date modified of a folder not updating to reflect when folder was modified (a file added) The folder dates are not updating when a new file is added in my SSD. The date remains when the folder was created not when it was modified by adding a file so i'm having a hard time automatically sorting the folders by date modified.
Thanks for the great video Maik! When I export my video (using 2 screens in the recording), the voice and the video is out of sync. Do you have any ideas on how to fix it? ( FYI, the video and audio starts out in sync, then gradually goes out of sync by about 1 second. My video is about 20 min long). Thank you!
It was my problem as I have used wireless headphones and there is a delay. Also have some videos where I forgot to change to stereo. The Detail app is great, and you also can adjust if you see a delay from audio lines in the app.
super fast and quick.... if you aren't using apple silicon. even MAX chips are slow as sin for magic mask. 3-6FPS tracking. So basically on apple silicon doing a long interview talking head style with a blurred background is not really feasible. You'll need a windows machine with a dedicated gpu to get 30+ fps
@@MaikKleinert That's insane. Even the M1 max gets 5-6FPS on magic mask. it's trash. Are you sure you are talking about the same thing I am? When you track for magic mask Because now you are talking about proxies.. which have zero to do with tracking magic mask.... It is slow on apple silicon because it's a GPU task and no apple silicon machines have a real dedicated GPU. Trust me, i guarantee my 4090 windows laptop will smoke your FPS for magic mask tracking.
Are you limited on the focus/zoom motor? I have a 24 to 70 zoom on the AK2000s and I can only get mine from 24 to 28. Oh, I am so glad I found this video. I could not find any information on how to adjust the range of motion on the focus/ zoom motor. I am going to have to try that now. Your video deserves a like and I subscribed. I will try it out either today or tomorrow and hope it works out.
@@MaikKleinert Ah, I did not know that, but the motor is strong enough to move the zoom on mine. I just need to calibrate it for the full range of motion. I even thought of adding another motor to control the focus as well. I would add a total of three, but with the current camera and lens I have, the aperture adjustment is on the camera itself.
@@MaikKleinert you’re welcome for the feedback. Also thank you for mentioning that it is for meant for the focus. I plan on using it for the zoom if the gimbal allows me to with the slightly offset weight. However, I do not wish to damage my gimbal. Thank you for responding to my comment.
I will create a long form video about it. The fastest way is mostly with apps instead the Apple photo editing option. Because of the limited adjustment options.
Yes it works you just have to format the card before using to ExFat or Ms-Dos(FAT) then it works fine. I use sometimes a dongle connected to the phone usb as it is way faster
@@MaikKleinert I think you did an excellent job conveying all the major points of the software . I really enjoyed how you gave the examples in the 1-5 format , along with real life use examples. The little funny snippets (like trying to plugin the phone to illustrate the wireless functionality) were funny and not forced feeling. I was looking for a solution for a multicam setup for music lessons and recording music playthroughs, and you definitely sold me on the software . Instant sub, keep up the great work ! Mega Geil 😎
Excellent tutorial, easy to follow and right on point. I have been struggling with this program for about a year now. The training that comes with the package is way to long and hard to follow, with the limited time I have to work with it, I have never been able to produce anything I'm happy with. With in a couple hours watching your video and talking notes I have finally produce something I'm very pleased with. Cinema Grade should hire you to head up thier training.

Hi! On 0:35 you told that you were recording this review in Detail. Your review here on RU-vid is in 4K, but Detail support tells me that currently the app only support recording in 1080P (in their FAQ its mentioned that app Records in up to 4K). So where is the truth? ;-) Is it recording in 4K or is it recording in 1080P onlly?
We disabled 4K recording when using an iPhone connected (same for Continuity Camera, it's currently limited to 1080p). However; if your are connecting a 4K input to Detail (Camlink 4K / Sony A7CII via USB) we will record 4K. Same applies to screen recording; we will record 4K
It's recording in 4K. When I record with the camera in 4K and then export the timeline as XML for an Davinci Resolve multicam edit I have to create a new timeline after importing in 4K then is all fine. So the original files are in 4K and also with the phone when using a cable.
@@DetailVideo So to clarify, if I connect a 4K Camlink to record my "A" material, but also have an iPad or iPhone to capture "B" material, can I no longer record in 4K when the iPhone/iPad is connected? Are you saying that once an iPhone is connected, then everything records at 1080p, even the Camlink camera?
@@danunderhillAll sources will be recorded in their output resolution. So your 4K output will be recorded in 4K. But the Detail Camera app for USB only outputs 1080p, primarily because it leads to better quality (better performance, more stable quality for longer recordings). Apple’s Continuity Camera also outputs 1080p.
The obs camera app allows for recording at 4k when connected via usb. Is a 4k recording possible over usb with the detail app? Continuity camera is 1080p because it’s wireless
Photo Grade is a Standalone Software, you can set up Affinity Photo to send it from there to Photo Grade or any other Apps then 100% yes. There is no plugin or integration. I know from Lightroom I can send my photo to other apps so thats my workflow. LR to PG

_Recording H265 and log you’re not going to get nearly as much color data and preserve detail in the shadows that will be the worst selection especially for the low light areas; it will be even worse when trying to edit H265, editing in that codec will be choppy. It is very difficult to work with in post production._
I have no problem with the h265 on Mac M3 and with Davinci Resolve. About the color data I could see much a difference but good to know. Best way would be ProRes 422
You can slow down the video speed and if you want to learn more in depth about CG check my other video about it. There I explain it more. About the Timeline Color Space you can set it to Rec709-A. I know the color management in davinci resolve is a bit overwhelming in the beginning.
Hi Mark, I just bought Cinema Grade (enhance) but don't know how to apply it in DeVinci Resolve, how to install it into DeVince, then you will be able to see your video timeline at 2:03, I didn't see Cinema Grade, so could tell me how to apply Cinema Grade into DeVinci?
Hey did you bought the version for Davinci ? If yes, easy install the .dmg and the plugin will get installed into Davinci Resolve automatically. Remember to close and open DR after installing. Another check if it is installed would be going to DR preferences -> then by System on Video Plugins and you should see Cinema Grade plugin there ;-) Let me know if it worked
@@amazingchannel2023 Ah then you should see it in Davinci if you see the red dots this means the plug in is applied but the license is not active. Go to the menu File or Help then Activate and copy in your activation code. Do you see the plugin in the settings I mentioned before or the color page ?

I have both premier pro and davinci and i bought the pro version of cinema grade for both platforms wanting it for the pro features and not realising the group shots, shot matching and grade match only worked on premier pro 😮 i only like using davinci now so wont switch back even to use those amazing features hahha
I feel you that's the problem with the BackMagic API they're not allowing that. It's a bit back and forward with the clip matching, but it works well when correcting footage fast and creating power grades. I am also not switching back DR is the best haha
Of course, you don't have to apply an input LUT. You can also just color grade normal footage. That's why I do a lot, as it is superfast way to do it. Click and slide :-D
I took an image yesterday but the properties say the last modified date was a month ago. Obviously impossible but forgetting about changing it, why is it wrong in the first place? Thanks
