Hello Jason, loved the idea you've put into. I would like to ask you about the basics for making these kinds of twin motor planes. Like the basics in electronic connections and wiring. Though your plane seemed overpowered and you look to be experienced pilot, I would like to know about this because in future I hope to build one like yours!
Thanks. There are probably many better guides on wiring a twin motor plane than I can offer myself - have a search for "how to wire twin motor rc plane" and you should find some useful instructional videos and pages. As long as you're happy soldering a few wires together, it's not too hard.
Can't comment on the Protek 25, but the 95X guts work way better in this frame. Also seen reports of similar success with people moving to the cinelog frame too.
In betaflight, under the blackbox logging tab, there's an option to effectively put the FC into mass storage mode. You click this, betaflight disconnects and the FC appears on your computer as a USB drive, you then just copy the files over. Can also be done via the betalight CLI using (I think) the command 'msc'.
@@JaseMK2001 Oh nice okay, did you increase your storage capacity or are you familiar with a way to transfer the files on the go ? i tought 8mb would allow for a few flights but it's filling up pretty quickly
@@TeejeeTV I can get two battery packs/flights in 8mb, so I need to remember to wipe it (using OSD menu) before I arm for a planned video flight. I think I’m logging at 500hz though which is probably overkill for video stabilisation. I need to try logging at maybe 100hz which would use a lot less space.
It's a new/different camera and transmitter, but the same tech as the plane - analogue 5.8GHz. I got a tiny indoor one a few months ago which is lots of fun. Really tricky but I can now go from room to room without clattering the door frames and occasionally make it under the coffee table.
Ha! Thanks! Yeah, there's been a lot of prep, head-scratching and late nights getting to this point. Apart from replacing the GPS unit I'd say I'm pretty much there now - All that's left is to just enjoy some relaxing flying. Shame winter is arriving... :-(
