Welcome to the RU-vid page for Breath of Fire Fans, a Social Media-centric group uniting fans of the classic Capcom JRPG series Breath of Fire all around the world!
Only played the first two, I like them both a lot but for different reasons. #1's highlights are the locations you visit, the art design, and the character interactions. #2's highlights are the overall story, the more balanced gameplay, and the shaman fusions. As for favorite character, in #1 it's definitely Deis, and in #2 either Bosch or Nina.
I wish Dragon Quarter had been better. It wasn't a bad game... it was decent, but its core gameplay premise in terms of the D-Counter and the SOL system (and the ways being built around those affected the gameplay in general) honestly worked very strongly against it IMO. It would have been nice to see more of a conventional RPG out of it, honestly, though the basic combat mechanics were decent IMO.
Never liked this game. Saw it in a bargain bin one day and brought it home after loving 3 and 4 and was very disappointed. Does seem to have a cult following though
fair enough, it's not for everyone. It's also so different from the parts before right? That's what i actually like about it. I'm one of the weirds who still play it 😅
It's called "Flight" from Breath of Fire Sound Collection. Composed by Yasuaki Fujita (BUNBUN). This feels like a 'debug' sort of trick to make it easier to test certain portions of the game, or perhaps demo them in something like a games preview expo. You'd normally want a more proper 'debug' menu but those weren't always left in near-release or release versions of games. Pretty cool, maybe there's more debug secrets hidden, I'm sure she and many other enthusiasts searched all they could but you always never know.
