I'm a figure skating fan making videos analyzing and celebrating this beautiful sport! My goal is to help everyone understand how figure skating works and help spread awareness for our sport. I think that figure skating should be accessible to fans new and old, and I want to promote positive, constructive analysis of the sport and its judging.
I became a fan in 2014 after watching Yuna's performances in Sochi, and now I mainly follow Yuzuru and ladies' skating, especially the Russian, Japanese, and Korean skaters. Feel free to subscribe if you like my content!

My girl lol you say that Yuzuru Hanyu does not do prerotation and then you show a video of him prerotating by 180°. He benefits so much of the judging system it's insane.
I started taking interest in figure skating literally just two hours ago but this video cleared so much for me and I feel like I understand the sport so much better now. Thank you for making such a well detailed easy to digest video for people new to the sport like me!
This video is perfection. I'm an animator looking for reference footage and I can't emphasize enough how priceless this information is, presented as you've done it with descriptions, detailed frame stops and circles to point out notes, and then examples. Phenomenal job.
Trusova's signature move is Cantilever as well. She uses it a lot. I don't think "excellent jump techniques" is a signature move considering Nathan, Hanyu, Yuna all also have excellent jumping techniques. But Liza defo is the best jumper among the Russian girls. Flawless technique.
I have been watching skating for 30-some years and never could understand the jumps, but this helped a little. The edges still confuse the hell out of me though. The skaters aren't always leaning so it's almost impossible to identify the jumps as they're preparing the takeoff... I guess I will have to start looking at which one is the "skating" foot (as opposed to the pick foot or takeoff foot) Or, if they revolve around their skating foot or revolve around the takeoff foot. Maybe I'm confused again. Anyway, the lutz just looks like a mistake waiting to happen and is only for double-jointed skaters. Idk
Muchas Patinadoras Rusas haciendo giros y movimientos comocidos....
Excellent and easy to understand...thank you...years of watching, i could identify the axel without hearing what it was from the commentators because it looked different but i wouldnt be able to say WHY it looked different. Now it makes actual sense to me. Again...thanks so much for posting this 😊
Never heard it called the Kerrigan Spiral.... Entitled rich girl spiral? JK. Just that one clip when she was in a bad mood at the Olympics waiting for Oksana to come out.
I still enjoy Midori's and Tonya's the most, after all these years...I don't think anyone can match the excitement generated from 1989-1992! Midori's speed and lightness, and Tonya's pure adrenalin and power...I go back to these constantly. Mao Asada managed to do it and make it look easy (good for her) but it looked so easy that it wasn't interesting or exciting to watch! Almost like a walley.
