Does anyone know whether the tensioner needs to be replaced if it is not tensioning? This is on a 12 speed T line that is only 1 month old. The bike is only used in central London up to 4km a day and only from Monday to Friday.

I disassembled the whole head-set. Greased it and increased the torque on my T-Line. But still I have a cracking sound on my handlebar all the time. After that I changed the bushings of the handle bar hinge. Again with no effect on the cracking noise! Maybe someone can share his solution on the handle bar cracking noise!
Would you believe, ANOTHER RANS S-7 pilot and Brompton owner here! I carry mine on a cargo deck that takes the place of the rear seat, so no extra drag, but no passenger capacity also. I've carried many external loads on the wing struts in the 30 years I've been flying the 7, with no issues. In your case, the only thing I see, assuming proper padding and attachment of course, is the drag, but it's a slow plane anyway!
wasted opportunity of a redesign why didn't they just integrate disk brakes into the og design like some modders have done or increase wheel width compatibility or external gears again like some modders have done, did the designer even research before coming up with this idea, no way is this gonna be flyable as hand luggage nor is it gonna be as hand portable folded being heavier, for international travel maybe? but then may aswell continue with a full sized (lighter) bike for cycle trips maybe theirs a market for convenience over practicality with this model eg not having to remove wheels but personally id rather that than sit below the middle with this, a folder could never compete with an full sized bike but the compact portability of the OG Brompton makes it favourable for foreign travel, so then the folding becomes a gimmick unless your home storage is really limited but then you may as well go with the small og Brompton I don't see the point of this model at all especially since we already have larger established folders on the market🤷🏻♂️
So the frame is made in a country called Britain that's way behind China. What about all of the other parts/components? Tyres, tubes, gearsets, chainsets, brakes, saddles, wheels etc - and the batteries, motors and controllers etc for your ultra-expensive ebikes? Everything is oh-so "proudly" made in Britain too? Prove it !!
I've just bought my Brompton and love it! It always makes me smile a little when these promotional videos show the unfolding, which make the bike look to almost all snap into place and off you go! They fail to show the fiddly clamp tightening bits. It would be great if they actually unfolded and locked into place automatically and had a quick release mechanism for folding. Great bikes though!👌

As a former Bikebuilder I now use a, built from scratch, MTB with oversize, Shimano, double caliber, hydraulic disc brakes, and I love it! But I have never felt - any need at all for "better brakes" on my 2019, Superlight Top Brompton (9 kilo), and I have raced down a steep Serpentine road with often Full Stops before passing "Cattle Bars", crossing the road, on foot! My Brompton Brakes never let me down! And those new brakes aren't "the real thing" as a "Mechanical Version" don't even come close to the effective function of a Hydraulic Set! Finn. Denmark
If wanting a "disc brake" on my Brompton, I would buy a titanium, Eastern built Fork for the purpose, and only in front, as I'm able to block the wheel at any time, in the back! And I have found 16" wheels for a disc, also sold from Chinese Firms. They produce also many, also better parts for Brompton like bikes, by that. My former Superlight is down to now below 9kilo, and still with mudguards. Finn. Denmark
Umm, don't fancy lugging a 15mm spanner, torque wrench and my bike stand in case I get a flat on my commute. Nor do I want to re-index my gears when it's -5 degrees c, dark and sleeting heavily during gusty winds over a deep puddle!💦🤣 Oh my golly..who edits these YT videos? What's gone on with the voice? Scary stuff!💀👻😳
