I thought I was the only one to notice this anomaly. Those saying this is the wrong island are incorrect. Although the chequerboard appears on only 1 GE image date Feb 2017 it, or perhaps the underlying structure is visible on adjacent images. Later it appears to have been removed or destroyed. My feeling is that it was a concrete platform that, for a time, was covered with tiles perhaps for some Masonic event. However the lack of definition to the boundaries of the platform isn't consistent with the concept of building a permanent wharf. The house on the eastern peninsula looks to have been demolished by September the same year (by the apparent absence of the blue roof) but its difficult to tell in the poor images but is certainly gone by October 2018.(first appears Sep 2009) Some commenter rightly points out the many issues of things missing between the Shackleford footage and the token raid that happened after JE's "suicide". For me there are two anomalous aspects to the buildings on the island and that is the use of Trompe-l'œil effects on the "Temple" and on the structure near the refueling station on the eastern facing beach just south of the main residence pool which the shackleford footage shows clearly having vents coming from the structure built into the hillside.
