So I think what you mean by "apply pressure and thread it back on" is push it in as far as it will go, then screw it clockwise until it won't screw anymore. This part is crucial for watertightness so I sure hope I got it right.
Please contact us by email to watches@momentumwatch.com. We can repair it and install a new crown if sending it to us is ok. Otherwise, if you have a good local watchmaker you trust, we can send you a crown. We just need the series number off the caseback.
Generally it can. The key issue for us is the difference between a screw down crown model and a conventional crown. The non screw crown relies on o-rings to ensure water resistance, so may safely test to 3ATM when new… but after some time the rubber o-rings become less flexible and the lubrication on the o-rings will dry out, so the water resistance becomes less and less reliable. A screw crown model “squeezes” the o-ring between the crown and the case when the crown is screwed in, making a positive seal. This will work even if the rubber becomes less flexible and the lubrication dries out, so will give a more reliable seal over a much longer time. A non screw crown watch may test to 3ATM when new, but there is a lot of pressure, even at 30m deep, to push water past the o-rings, especially as the watch gets older!
wouldnt it be more better and economical to put all the watchses in a big like boxs with a holes and drop it into the water? then the tested watch survive
Thanks for the explanation. I was wondering how the pressure testing was done. Also, it's good to see Dave. I've spoken with him on the phone a couple of times about minor issues and each time he was both knowledgeable and courteous. Thanks, Dave! BTW, I own 4 Momentum watches. Not bragging, just indicating the confidence these very accurate timepieces give me, and how much I like the attractive and rugged styling.
Did you know this is the watch that the president of Mexico, Andres manuel lopez obrador currently wears? Other sources say it's an IWC pilot, but the iwc doesn't even have crown guards. This is it. I'll get one myself! Thanks!
Dear Education Program Assistant, The straps are 100% natural rubber, and do not attract dust and lint like silicone does :] All the best, Pascal P. Momentum Watches
i am interested in the atlas 44mm. can you hear the atlas ticking? i am searching for a quartz watch that is very silent/muted because it can distract me while reading. thank you for your answer!
You guys need to reissue this watch in solar. I love my Vortex, I hate changing the batteries. I think the Steelix Eclipse is a great watch and you should reaply the tech to this watch with some upgrades like better loom or an Led back light.
