Don't start this by implying that it was about slavery..it wasn't. It was MOSTLY about HONORING the terms of the Constitution to which they had ALL VOLUNTARLY agreed to and trusted that the others would do the same and could in Thomas Jefferson's words "abolish their govt if it became repressive and form one that suits them better" and that is what the South did, they tried to leave in peace, but Lincoln goaded them into war because the north could NOT survive without the South....think about it and read REAL history...

Thanks for sharing your viewpoint! The causes of the Civil War are definitely complex and multifaceted, and you're right that issues like states' rights, economic differences, and the Constitution all played significant roles. However, it's also important to recognize that slavery was deeply tied to many of these conflicts, especially as it shaped the Southern economy and way of life. Lincoln’s primary goal was to preserve the Union, but the issue of slavery became central as the war progressed, especially with the Emancipation Proclamation. It’s always valuable to look at the full scope of history, honoring different perspectives while understanding how they intersect. The more we explore, the better we can understand the many layers of our nation's past!

Border states were the only ones where family members fought each other Union Vs CSA
@InTune4u
@InTune4u 16 часов назад
Great point! Border states like Kentucky, Missouri, and Maryland were definitely the most famous for families being divided between the Union and Confederacy. However, it wasn't just limited to the border states, there were cases all across the country where brothers, cousins, and even close friends found themselves on opposite sides due to differing beliefs or local loyalties. The Civil War really hit home for so many families, no matter where they lived, which is what made it such a personal and heartbreaking conflict for many. Thanks for highlighting that!

@InTune4u
@InTune4u 16 часов назад
The Civil War was definitely a defining moment in America's history, but it was also one of the most tragic. The idea of 'brother against brother' shows just how deeply divided the country was over critical issues like slavery and states' rights. While America has had great moments in its history, the Civil War reminds us of the immense cost of division. It’s important to remember the lessons from that time so we can strive for unity and justice moving forward. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

The civil war was the ultimate family feud
@InTune4u
@InTune4u 16 часов назад
You're absolutely right! The Civil War really was like the ultimate family feud. So many families, especially in border states, were split between the Union and Confederacy. It wasn’t just a national conflict, but a deeply personal one that tore apart homes and communities. That’s what makes it so heartbreaking and fascinating to study. It's a reminder of how complex and painful division can be, even within families.

Why do people let AI do the graphics for these history lessons, they get the uniforms completely wrong, they had soldiers in helmets on here, use historical photo's or a program or whatever that gets the graphics right for the time period.
@InTune4u
@InTune4u 16 часов назад
Thanks for your feedback! Accuracy in historical content is really important, and I totally understand your concern about the uniforms and details. AI-generated visuals sometimes miss those specifics, especially when it comes to historical accuracy. We aim to create engaging content, but you're right! authenticity matters too. We’ll work on incorporating more accurate historical photos and sources in future videos to stay true to the time period. Appreciate your input, and we're always striving to improve!

This explanation is bullshit. The slavery issue didn't come along until well into the war.
@InTune4u
@InTune4u 16 часов назад
I appreciate your input! It's true that the Civil War had multiple causes, and while slavery wasn't the only issue, it was deeply intertwined with the political, economic, and social tensions of the time. While the war initially focused on preserving the Union, slavery became a central issue as the conflict progressed, especially with events like the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863. The North and South had been divided over slavery for decades before the war, and those divisions played a major role in sparking the conflict. It’s a complex history, but understanding all the factors helps us get a fuller picture of why the war happened and why it had such a lasting impact. Thanks for keeping the conversation going!

Nobody who enslaves another person or even presumes they have the right to, is a brother of mine.
@InTune4u
@InTune4u 16 часов назад
I completely understand your point. Slavery was an incredibly brutal and dehumanizing institution, and it's hard to imagine how anyone could justify it. The Civil War era reveals just how deeply divided the country was over such a fundamental issue of human rights. While the phrase 'brother against brother' reflects the tragic reality of families torn apart by war, it's important to remember that not all were united in their beliefs. Many people, like abolitionists, fought fiercely against slavery. The more we discuss and acknowledge these hard truths, the better we can understand the complexities of history and ensure we're on the side of justice today.

Hmm nice story here! However as the people tear down historical monuments across America that simply creates division and rascism! We need to learn from our tragic past mistakes people!!
@InTune4u
@InTune4u 16 часов назад
Thank you for sharing your perspective! I completely agree that it's important to learn from our past, especially the difficult chapters like the Civil War. Understanding the complexities of that era, including how it divided families and the nation, can help us avoid repeating the same mistakes. Monuments are part of that history, but they also need to be viewed in context. Some people feel these monuments represent a painful legacy, while others see them as important historical markers. The key is having conversations that bring us together, allowing us to reflect on the past without deepening divisions. History should always guide us toward a better future, not tear us apart. Let's keep talking and learning from one another!

Displaced natives...
@InTune4u
@InTune4u 2 дня назад
Absolutely, the Homestead Act of 1862 had significant implications for Native American communities. While it aimed to promote westward expansion by providing land to settlers, it often led to the displacement and marginalization of Indigenous peoples from their ancestral lands. This act contributed to the loss of traditional territories and cultures, creating long-lasting impacts that are still felt today. It's essential to recognize both the opportunities it created for settlers and the profound injustices faced by Native Americans during this period. Thank you for highlighting this critical aspect of history!

It seems a lot more difficult to us. But to them especially the kids it was what they knew. I'm not saying it wasn't hard on them. I'm saying that it's what they dealt with every day. Evan the good times for them. Would seem brutal to us.

That's such a great perspective! You're absolutely right, what seems brutal to us today was simply everyday life for people in the 1800s. They were adapted to those challenges, and in many ways, their resilience was incredible. It’s fascinating to think about how the 'good times' back then might still feel tough by modern standards, but for them, it was normal. It really shows how much our understanding of hardship has changed over time. Thanks for sharing your insight! it adds a lot to the conversation!
