FAL used to be such a good place for bottles and store picks. Sadly their selection has gone down hill. I use to buy a bunch from there and now it is just the common shelfers. Great bar tho, but I just rather goto Evergreen and have a pour. FAL also use to be known for their store picks, but it looks like from your vid they still do not have any store picks anymore.
I thought the bar there was great and likely return when in the area to try some more bottles. Speaking to them when we were there they said they had a Old Forester black label pick that should be coming in soon

Visiting a couple different Liquor Stores on the edge of Cincy is usually my go to. Visiting any distillery on Whiskey Row just for fun. Similar to Paul, I'm 0/1 for Jimmy Russell. Lots of distilleries have hidden bottles on the shelves with signatures which is fun to uncover. Also claiming gifts from the Ambassador Programs is clutch including a few tour / tasting at a number of Distilleries once a year
Maker’s Mark offers their own Private Select distillery only release at their gift shop. I’m 0 for 2 meeting Jimmy Russell 😢 Whisky Thieving Company lets you thieve your own bottle. Can get signed bottles at Kentucky Artisan (Jefferson’s) and Bardstown Bourbon Company. Angels Envy sells cask strength (don’t see in Ohio).
Gotta love Schreck’s. That’s one of the place I go to when going home and is a place I always tell people to check them out since they have random whiskies or close out deals to try new stuff. Cheers guys
For reasons unknown, Early Times Bottled in Bond disappeared from liquor store shelves in north Georgia about ten months ago. Also, in this area I have never seen (in the last ten years)a Very Old Barton 100, plenty of 80 proof. Buffalo Trace is much harder to find than most $27 bourbons, and harder to find than Eagle Rare in my area. Of the eight bourbons you presented, I always have a bottle of Wild Turkey 101 and a bottle of Old Forester 100.
you saved me the trouble of ever going in there even though i live 5 minutes from there..next time you come down, you should try the brewery down the road..a lot of great beer
