Couple questions first I’ve got a 16 that has been on the primary delete for several years. I blocked of the necessary items on the egr then but left egr cooler installed. I’m about to remove it do you have any suggestions about tackling that job? Have watched plenty of videos on removing it. Second is i really want to replace the cp4 with the SS VERSION any suggestions on that? Thank you
The EGR is fairly easy to remove. The biggest suggestion is to know where all your bolts go. You will reuse some of them. The hose that goes into the firewall is hard to remove. I used a long needle-nose pliers to help remove mine. As far as the CP4/SS Diesel removal and installation goes take your time. Be sure to replace all the seals. And tighten all your bolts. You should also get an adjustable crows foot.
Just did my 2009 MKX. Wasn't sure if it was possible to do without a bunch of extra work. Glad you posted this! My hands were too big to get to it, but my girls weren't! Thanks for the video!!
I'm taking this on soon thanks to your video. You make it easy to follow along. I appreciate your sharing your insight as to why and when you approach from underneath versus through the top. Keep the videos coming!
Just did this to a 2007 Ford Edge(same as mkx) Low oil pressure light coming on in cold weather when at idle only. I was able to do it all from under the hood. Did not have to take off filter or use ramps. However I was only able to turn ratchet one click at a time. Total job took ~15 minutes. Will edit this post when I find out if this fixes the issue.
I have a 2009 Charger RT. Lift up front passenger side and put jack stands up. Crawl under and look up. Starter is right there. Takes like 10 minutes to remove.
It's been a month since I took the starter off because it winter came. Should I connect the wires after I get the starter all the way back Inn in Mount it or should I connect the wires first then try to put it in?
Was your oil pressure light coming on intermittently prior to you changing it ? Mine just started to show on my dash but I’ve checked the oil level and it’s been fine so I’m assuming I have a malfunctioning oil pressure switch
Elijah Moore that is exactly what I saw and I just checked the oil level this morning and it looks good. I called a shop and they wanted over $200 for labor only . I ordered the part and waiting for it to come in .
How do you know if it's your starter that's bad? I have the 09 but I cant figure out what it is. When I crank it starts once warmed up n driven around if you shut of the car. It just cranks over n over n sound like the battery is dying, bug battery is new.. new camshaft n crankshaft sensors. After car cools down it will crank up
Easy way to find out if your starter is good is use a jumper wire where your starter relay is. I'll link the video if can figure out how Edit Here's link to test the starter ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SNLcW7FhQFw.html
Thanks man, I have an Oil pool inn my driveway, the tech that was going to do it flaked on me, thanks for posting I just paid myself $100 to watch your video and do it myself. question how many miles on your MKX? I have 142k
gotta do this on my 2009 ex police car..great tip!!!...work for FCA Canada and the factory manual says to drop the exhaust system at the manifolds but mine will snap for sure!!
Good video! I always hate doing starters on Dodge vehicles. Dumb design and i have probably changed over 100 starters on customer's vehicles. I do them this way as well. PS. It would help in these videos if people were a little more detailed about the engines. There are 3 engines offered this year and it might not be the same procedure for different engines.
