Vlogs/Reviews/Study This is H.S.TV, my name is Heen Shamaz and I'm a medical student at the University of Edinburgh! My videos aim to help aspiring med students and current med students with all things medicine, Edinburgh, tech and note taking! I know when I was applying to medical school that there was little to no content on universities in Scotland, so I'm trying my best to fill that gap. You'll find med school vlogs, interview prep guides, note taking tutorials, and LOTS more...
I hope you find my content useful, please share it around and be sure to subscribe for more content coming soon!! Questions and video suggestions always welcome! Thanks so much:)
Unfortunately there is not much customisation options available to sort files within a folder. There are options to sort by title, date created, or date modified which you can choose by clicking the little arrow with 3 lines on the top right hand side when inside a folder. Hopefully we can see more options in the future!
A great video and you are an excellent presenter. I am a Samsung OG fanboy and have been loving notes until the last 12 months or so. No PC support is just killing me! Samsung Notes is far far superior to Android One Note but when you need to cross platform it means I am having to cross the picket line and jump into One Note and I hate it so much.
Thanks for watching and supporting the channel! I'll try to make aesthetic note taking videos. It's becoming tricky to make videos like this because I actually no longer take notes at medical school. My routine is so busy that making content out of my day is proving difficult. Regardless, I will try my best:)
I have not tried obsidian, and to be honest with you I mostly use Notion nowadays as a planner rather than for note taking. I mostly just make mind maps on paper or summary tables on Microsoft Word. The rest of my revision is doing questions, I feel it is most effective.
@@HSTVoffcial i comment about obsidian because the link system and the possibility of install plugins (add-ons) like excalidraw, or Ink, which simply allows this modularity between typing, making simpler tables, mind maps or handwriting (depending on the device you are using), but anyway, your perspective is very interesting, mainly about this change, of using a form a lot and then having to look for mechanisms to optimize it in some way.
Thank you for the review HS! I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 FE - all that I could afford! It's pretty good, but it only has a limited version of Samsung Notes, which I'm unable to upgrade. I saw your video, downloaded the free version of Flexcil & and preferred it over Notes, but then downloaded & paid for the full version. A great notetaking & pdf app!
Thanks for watching, I'm so glad my video helped you! The tab S7 FE is also a great tab and at least with flexcil you will get all the same features as the flagship devices! Good luck note taking:)
Thanks a lot for such an amazing video.. can u plz help me out bcoz i am bit confused between S10 ultra tab or Book 4 360... Bcoz while using book4 for notes it feels bulky to handle.. As well as also tell how is AI working on book4 360. As a student note making, reading, multitasking & sone entertainment stuffs.. which one is worth to consider?
I'd say go for the book. The only reason the tab s7+ works for me is because I have a desktop pc as well. Samsung dex is good, give a PC like experience but ultimately it's not a PC. Really depends what sort of device ecosystem you use!
I only watched you in the past because of Tech Review of my favorite tech company Samsung. Please, purchase the latest Samsung and give us your experience.
Great to hear you've been loving my tech reviews! However do keep in mind that I am a full time medical student and so a lot of my content will tie in with my routine! Saying that, I also love tech so will definitely continue to do reviews even if it's not the main focus of the channel anymore:)
The University given quiz questions, peerwise question bank made by peers and professors at university. Med school boot camp question bank for anatomy. Passmed years 1-3 version is alright but sometimes too detailed for what I needed. Hope that helps!
Interestingly, I just finished watching you tout the Tab S7+'s virtues is 2024, stating how it's still a viable option against the larger Tab S9 Ultra, owing to the fact that the extra cost was not worth the increase in display size and weight in the backpack. Now, here you are unboxing a behemoth of a 2-in-1, with not dock for the S-Pen.
I still use the tab S7+, and still vouch for it! This is actually my sister's device which she uses at university. I think both the tab and 2 in 1 laptops have their place when it comes to studying. Comes down to personal preference and your ecosystem of devices. For me just now the Tab S7+ and my windows PC is the perfect set up!😊
hi, is edinburgh med school pbl and if so, did you have positive experiences of this learning? i have heard that it is very independant and such self-directed learning is difficult.
Hey thanks for watching the video! Yes edinburgh medical school does PBL in years one and two I'm consists of two sessions in the week. The first session is where the case is discussed in the group and we come up with questions and in the second session of the week we will discuss the answers and our research. In recent years , the PBL sessions Aim to promote a wider sense of knowledge in medicine so moving away from traditional patient cases to exploring topics like climate change and health policy making. I found PBL to be an interesting part of the course and although it did take some time away from lectures, it was still related to examinable content and added a more holistic way of thinking. In regards to your point on it being self- directed, what I would say to that is all university courses are self directed nowadays, especially after COVID. A lot of the learning is posted online with follow-up tutorials. So for me this wasn't anything different or more challenging! Hope that helps!
I like how your notes look. I clicked the link to find out how to change colors and move text, but you don't explain how you're doing this. There are no instructions for Samsung Notes that I have seen, either.
To change the color of your pen you can go to the pen symbol in the tool bar and choose from a variety of different colours. What I normally do is set my regular pens as favourites by choosing pen type/colour and then clicking the star. This allows me to effortlessly change between pens by just clicking the button on my s pen. In order to move text, if it's handwritten you can use the lasso tool to select and then move/resize. If it's typed text you can use the textbox feature, type your text, and then click on it to move it around/resize. Hope that clarifies things. I would highly recomend that you have a play about with Samsung notes yourself, it has a nice interface that is easy to learn:)
@@HSTVoffcial ok. I will try that. It's just that I, and perhaps more people, clicked on your link thinking it would be more of a tutorial than a fast-paced run through. Keep up the videos and good luck with classes!
It's called the keyboard book cover. I'm not sure if it's still available from Samsung since the tab s7 series is a few years old now. Perhaps check on amazon?
@Meowniverse08 I've searched for Penly on the Microsoft store and it isn't coming up, not sure if it can be downloaded externally. There are other note taking apps available such as- noteshelf, goodnotes and one note. Basically anything that's available on windows is available on the laptop.
Hi and thank you for your video! So difficult to find something about the book 360 without pro and ultra in the name...I have got one question. Does the fan start spinning even at simple tasks because I had the 3 360 and it was the worst fan experience ever. TiA!
Hi thanks for watching! The fan doesn't start spinning with simple tasks. It's barely audible or noticeable with basic university tasks. Hope that helps:)
hey! so far how is it holding with the battery and performance in every sense? im currently studying computer engineering and I picked the 14" MacBook Pro with M1 Pro instead of this Samsung one or the book ultra 4. Mostly, the battery was the reason, and ended up with a e-ink device for note taking related to math stuff. But personally, while having an s21 ultra, I think I would have liked a samsung laptop like the book 4 pro 360, cuz doing both laptop and tablet stuff is amazing to me... I guess I dream of one for the future
Hi, thanks a lot for watching the video! There is always going to be a debate between apple and Samsung when it cones to which is best for students! I have honestly come to the conclusion that it just depends on your current ecosystem of devices. I have never had an issue with battery life on the book 4 360, lasts me a full day of studying easily, that includes note taking, video calls, watching lectures etc etc so nothing too heavy to be fair! Hope this helps! Enjoy your MacBook Pro:)
If you weren't a Med Student I would have ridiculed you for misreading the Wattage in adapter. Secondly, It's not 68W battery genius it's 68Wh. Battery or any power storing devices are measured in Energy units like in Mitochondria its ATP(I think now you can understand units). Lastly, it is evident that for a machine like this more than 65W doesn't make sense. FYI, a laptop without dedicated GPUs doesn't requires much power.
I have heard that many people complain about cracked displays. Has this happened to your display? And if not, have you done anything special to prevent it from happening?
Honestly I've not heard of this or experienced it thankfully! I don't do anything special, just taking care when folding the laptop over and making sure that it's placed on clean, flat, even surfaces.
Yeah I think at this point in the year, updates will soon be gone on the S7 series. I'd recomend investing in one of the newer models if you can! Other than the updates factor, the tab is still fantastic and works like new, no complaints!😁
One question. This isn't the pro version, right? Is it the base version? You said it came with the S pen and when i got my Galaxy Book4 360, it said it doesnt come with an S pen and that you have to buy it separately.
@@HSTVoffcial Ohhh, okay. Thank you for the info. Maybe I'll just buy the S pen separately. I really love this laptop. I usually don't use microsoft edge, but the fact Copilot is integrated in it and I'm able to use the Samsung ecosystem within it, it is just really useful for me. Especially as someone who is studying EMT.
