Yet another video on RU-vid where Strongboys are being misused. The main cause of collapse during masonry alterations is overloading due to removing Strongboy’s further from the wall to either avoid internal 1st floor wall damage or where attempting to gain more fitting work space as over extending greatly affects the capacity. When fitted with a Strongboy or any other similar designed product the Acrow props safe working load is severely reduced by at least 90%, from 3,400kg down to the maximum 340kg and can even reduce down to 0kg of which depends on the size & the working height of the Acrow prop, how plumb, how tightly fitted and how far the Acrow prop is positioned from the centre of the wall and is fully explained within this guide. - It’s urban myth that the Strongboy is suitable for every task, with the instructions changed by enforcement of the H.S.E in November 2015 and now read; “Before using a Strongboy you should identify that it is a suitable method to carry out the intended works”. British law also states that all temporary support must be designed, installed & maintained to withstand the load and only used for the purpose for which it was designed for, a structure must not be loaded as to render it unsafe at any time to any person.
++SteamLocoScrapper++ Alright, just to humour you, heelfan1234 by another name, I'll ask you to explain how this machine is firstly "very dangerous" and secondly "polluting". Do you have any reasonably logical answers to give me? I await your reply...
Don't worry. This is just a little troll that hides out in his mother's house and posts up stuff like this to annoy people. Check out his name. This is a very sad person.
Farmers in Britain near railway lines had to use more fertiliser after the demise of steam. In Gladstone in Queensland, Australia, there is a cancer cluster near the delec workshop. Railway workers are sick from the diesel fumes.
*Looks difficult viewing forward from the cab* of Great Western 3822. What serial number this apparent in-house 2-8-0 (or, as known in Europe, 1-D) build of the Great Western at Swindon patterned after Fleet No. 2884?
Everything about this is wrong. No ear defenders or hardhats especially when they removed one of the supporting Akros while working underneath. Hope people don't copy this method. New Lintols needs to rest on padstones.
Yes, what a bunch of cowboys. You don't put a new steel girder on to brickwork, you need a concrete or stone padstone and a steel packer under the lintel ends to ensure the end reaction loads are not down the inside edge but some cms inside the opening.. that brick will tip up and cause craking. COWBOYS
+Nicoh158gaming Indeed. Some people think that a steam locomotive is only worth the money gained from selling its parts as scrap metal, but I and many other railroad buffs (likely including you) believe it has much more value as a moving, almost living, piece of history.
Saw her in Barry then was present at the first steaming. Lets hope the one waiting patiently at Buckfastleigh will once again enjoy a new life. David. Once a member of the GWS...I got married twice but my lovely daughter loves them and what a ticket onto the footplate. Katie now 6 has quite a toolbox and can name everything within. This weeks recognition "Black Five!!!"
According to Wikipedia, yes indeed, locomotive #3822 was the one used for the video for the Queen song Breakthru. There should be some mention about that in the description.
haha! Good vid. Nice one lads. I did the same thing but on my own. Didn't look that heavy...All went well until I somehow had the whole thing in my arms and nowhere to go except down. Looked for certain it would slide down the brickwork and take the ouside tap off at minimum. I let one end go and as it went pitched it over like those caber toss guys do. Luckily no one was watching..
