Im a DIY mechanic that is cheap and loves saving a buck. Some of my methods may not be manufacturer approved however it will get the job done and save you thousands in the process. Please let me know your thoughts and don’t forget to like, comment, and share! Thanks!
Great hack for us red-neck DIY guys. 2010 F150 Lariat - did this today (Oct 26, 2024) and it went well. Took a bit to break off the side you can't get to, but got it broken then all was good. Tip for getting the teeth to line up: I put the blend door motor in place and then turned my ignition on to activate motor while putting a little pressure on the part ... slipped right in this way. Another tip for the recirculate blend door: I didn't fix mine when it went bad, I removed the Fan Motor assemble and took some pool noodle and wedge it the recirculate (door closed) permanently. I don't use fresh air - I can crack a window for that. Thanks much for the video. It saved time and money and works perfectly. Blessing.
you know there is an actual specification you can check using a dial gauge. It is normal for there to be some play. You also don't check uppers the same as lowers because the lowers support the weight, the uppers just hold the wheel in/out.
@@justthetipgarage5305 not sure. It’s something I want to remove and paint match but all the videos I’ve watched are so complicated expect yours. It was simple.
Any advice for getting that panel back on? The one the camera sits in? I installed it perfectly and it works but I am unable to get the panel to sit back on there. Do I just to use more force?
I read a Honda bulletin that requires a software update to the control module. It states that various electrical systems are on and the pgm-f1 software is too slow to respond when vehicle is stopped or idle . Hope this helps someone.
thanks for this video. I just did the exact same thing and fixed my issue. Not that big a deal to do to a 14 year old truck as mine is a 2011. So worth it. Thanks again.
I fooled with mine for two days then seen a similar video and did this. Never had another problem on that truck. Have another to do. Hope it goes easy as the other did after seeing a video like this one. Thanks!
Ive came back to this video 3 times. My passenger has broken twice and driver once. The passenger one is broken again... I am currently walking out to my garage to do it.. What my question is, why does this continue to malfunction? Will work for 9-12 months then poo out. Thanks buddy you really have helped me out more than once!
Made an account just for this comment. Gotta gove credit where credit is due.. i did this on my truck.. exactly as the video says.. and it worked perfectly. Thanks a ton bud. Ford dealership here in town wanted $4,000 for this repair.. lol
Hey! Its been 3 months since last oil change in my car. Everything has run just fine but yesterday after roadtrip I checked my dipstick and it reads just above the mark. It has run smoothly and without problems. Also, the dipstick is aftermarket so I dont know... What would you recommend me to do?
@@frankone97 there’s a lot of options there. If the oil is normal it could just be on a slight slant or the aftermarket dip stick has slightly different markings. If it’s just a little I’d monitor it for now to make sure coolant or something isn’t getting into the oil and increasing it.
@@justthetipgarage5305 interesting. Im in the same situation but my freeze plug ended up having a hole in it. Replacing it tomorrow and putting it back together to see if its good. Im thinking it needs a good flush because it should have leaked coolant color right?
@@Rob-z9y rarely do they get loose. They probably snapped. But simply removing the fender liner will let you see if they’re missing or not. And with the right assortment of tools you can tighten them.
@@justthetipgarage5305 Thanks. trying to track down what the noise coming from truck is. at start up its a light tick. after few seconds, it gets quieter but still there. when driving under throttle you hear the noise but not when off throttle. heres vid i made. the sound is specifically from passenger side. ru-vid.comQOVepAe4NDc
@@Rob-z9y look for a broken exhaust stud. That’s my guess. Remove the tire and inner fender well and you’ll be able to tell quick. Or you can use a Camera or mirror.
@@justthetipgarage5305 thanks, ill see what i can figure out. I was able to see the top 4 bolts... they're intact. I'll have to move camera around and see about bottom 4 bolts. The truck has lived in dry heat climate its life so rust is no factor.
Those Eccotec engines are some of the worst im glad my 2008 Saturn XE has the Good Old Fashioned 3.5 pushrod V6 3500 single cam chain driven smooth and I love the way it sounds 🤔💯⚠️
@justthetipgarage5305 any idea why the dealership told me replacing it would need a new catalytic converter? They described it as attatched and said it would be expensive to replace because of the catalytic converter...
@@pogolaugh no clue. I removed it and replaced it while keeping the catalytic converter. Just be careful with the exhaust manifold bolts. They are low torque and can snap easy
I got a P2A00 code on a 2009 civic (midwest area) (oxygen sensor bank 1) I replaced it OEM and the code keeps coming back. How likely would this be the issue?
@@justthetipgarage5305 i figured im going to replace the cat converter with all new exhaust pipes (also test for leaks) that should take care of that code
BEFORE YOU START TAKING IT APART, Try removing the SD card in the center storage and put it back in. I was halfway through the disassembly and I saw a comment on another video from 6 years ago suggesting it. It totally worked.
1. Remove felt cover (pop buttons off using pry tool) 2. Pop off cover of center hinge? 3. Unscrew Philips screws on handle and cover 4. Unscrew 3 nuts on each tail light (black) 5. Disconnect tail light 6. Remove 4 bolts 7. Remove T20 screw using a T20 head 8. Disconnect camera
Given the intermittent functionality of the backup camera, did you first try using CRC Industries Electronic Cleaner or similar on the connectors given they appear to be exposed to the elements to some extent? Going to give this a go first this afternoon. Fingers crossed!
@@AutoEmpire-o6c can’t remember. I think I pulled the one for the sync and a few others. Nothing worked. Then I unplugged battery for a day. No dice. So I replaced the camera. No issues since

I just did this on my 2014 f150 The dealer want $1900 for the labor Was a pain to get it out and harder to get the new one in. But use a good pruner and be patient. So far it working Cold air back on the driver side
