Add me on Facebook Luis Durant ! I have this same bike in orange and you seem to have knowledge on this bike . I have been looking to find out how the clutch cable is ran. . Help plz
Not keen on that silencer cos I've heard they aren't that good for performance, because of the reduced back pressure, but the other mods are tasteful indeed.
To Willto- I heard this bird this morning whilst it was still dark and love this sound and are at a loss as to what sort of bird it is . It's quite funny that I am asking an American about an Australian bird ! Thanx mate - I hope you enjoy Australia .
Guys I made this video 8 years ago. Can't upload it again. I don't have the files anymore. Long since sold the bike. I'm not a mechanic by trade, in Canadian, and made the video while living in Australia. Not American, Nigel. I chose to make the video while rebuilding the trans because I wanted to document it at the time and share what I did. Think you can do a better job then make your own vid.
you have the background music so loud you cannot hear the mechanics commentary. Usual heavy rock crap, Why do Americans think all bikers are heavy rock wankers?
Yeah. I had to replace the dash. I tested the coolant sensors and they were fine. Turned out the dash had just failed. Seems to be an issue when the bikes get to this vintage. check out the threads on www.apriliaforum.com
57's were easy to fit, had to enlarge the hooked air box holes to accomodate the bigger bores, with a dremel type tool. Aprilia Performance in the UK did the rest hooking up the electrical connections for the injectors but it seemed fairly straightforward as I was watching! There are articles here that give all the details. Well worth it the mid range grunt is superb :) I have 121 bhp at the rear wheel go for an old girl of nearly 15yrs!! Want to move up to a BMW S1000RR next year tho, fantastic machines www.apriliaforum.com/forums/showthread.php?281440-Saying-goodbye-to-the-F255-and-hello-to-the-A2BF-or-how-I-went-from-51s-to-57s&highlight=57mm
Andrew Bright I've heard about a hooked air box but not sure if I know what that is. Is it where the top is cut open and a rubber seal is put around the outside of it to seal against the tank?
Yep that's the one, but the seal is retained by a metal lip on the bottom part of the airbox, it's a cheap and simple way of de restricting the box, sounds good too :)
Yesterday i bought my 1ste road legal bike its a Honda cbr 900rr fireblade, i would recomment 750 or even higher for a 1ste bike a 600 is too lazy like me im planning to drive my honda for years to come and alot of people who buy a 600 get bored of it quickly but i dont recommend a high powered bike when your a asshole driving 200 over public roads that will get u killed, ive been driving since i was 5 so i know my limits !
Well the white gloss coating on my particular cover was irregular to start with. It seems to have had some residue on it when it was painted or powder coated (whatever process they use) and so regardless of care, it started to chip very fast! Further, a case worth this much should be much more resilient. Like I said, they should have made it out of white plastic.
It really depends on how you take care of it and how you treat a $90 case you bought. I have the white and had it for 8 months and haven't had ANY white gloss chip off
