I was hoping that this would be a chance to see a male lead do the role with a more "boy" perspective than the usual female leads. Unfortunately, this young man played the role in the style of the usual female lead. With that said, it is a very good production considering that it is a high school production.
This is quite excellent; and I'm picky about theatre. I had the privilege of seeing Cathy Rigby play this in 2004. It's a very novel thing to actually have a male/guy play Peter Pan. He is quite good.
In no way is this a regular high school production. If anything, it is a Theater group of high school-aged actors. No school has that many great teen actors who can act, sing and dance. Either way, this was an excellent production!

My first Peter Pan was Mary Martin in 1955. Even at age 5 I thought it was creepy to have a 40 year old woman pretend she was a boy. This casting is a wonderful change.
Technically, yes. So this is really interesting because while the “avatar” of Hook is male, the motion capture performance was done by a female actress many months prior. People usually assume that renting the flying rigs is the most expensive part of this show, but actually it’s getting the MOCAP suits.

It is the second time a male has played Peter in this musical. My Aunt wrote the lyrics to this version which is the Broadway version of Peter Pan and I had been saying if you get the right voiced male they can play it.
@@peterboq1 oh I'm not complaining, I'm impressed, considering it had been standard to be a female. My favorite being Cathy Rigby since she really captured the childish playfulness of Peter
Is this the only time a male played Peter Pan in the musical? I know there are other Peter Pan productions where boys/men have played him but are there others who had a male lead in this specific musical version? I hope what I said made sense. lol My dream is to someday play Peter in this musical version someday! I want to be able to sing the classic songs and maybe throw in a rendition of Second Star To The Right from the Disney version!
Are you ready for today's lesson? Yes, Peter! Listen to your teacher. Repeat after me: I won't grow up, (I won't grow up) I don't want to go to school. (I don't want to go to school) Just to learn to be a parrot, (Just to learn to be a parrot) And recite a silly rule. (And recite a silly rule) If growing up means It would be beneath my dignity to climb a tree, I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up Not me! Not I, Not me! Not me! I won't grow up, (I won't grow up) I don't want to wear a tie. (I don't want to wear a tie) And a serious expression (And a serious expression) In the middle of July. (In the middle of July) And if it means I must prepare To shoulder burdens with a worried air, I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up Not me, Not I, Not me! So there! Never gonna be a man, I won't! Like to see somebody try And make me. Anyone who wants to try And make me turn into a man, Catch me if you can. I won't grow up. Not a penny will I pinch. I will never grow a mustache, Or a fraction of an inch. 'Cause growing up is awfuller Than all the awful things that ever were. I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up, No sir, Not I, Not me, So there! I won't grow up! (I won't grow up) I will never even try (I will never even try) I will do what Peter tells me (I will do what Peter tells me) And I'll never ask him why (And I'll never ask him why) We won't grow up! (We won't grow up) We will never grow a day (We will never grow a day) And if someone tries to make it (And if someone tries to make it) We will simply run away (We will simply run away) I won't grow up! (I won't grow up) No, I promise that I won't (No, I promise that I won't) I will stay a boy forever (I will stay a boy forever) And be banished if I don't! (And be banished if I don't) And Never Land will always be The home of beauty and joy And neverty I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up Not me! Not me! Not me! Not me! No sir! Not me!
It’s because he now has to follow the ancient Neverland tradition of sacrificing her firstborn. He really doesn’t want to do that, but it must be done. He told Wendy not to grow up, and now she must pay the price. The ending scene of Peter and Jane slowly floating out the window is meant to be very disturbing and to fill you with horrific dread-you will leave the show feeling rotten to your stomach and questioning the existence of God.
