A fork is good for a zipper pull to get it on the zipper. A lady who makes bags showed me. You need a fork you can bend, - bend head slightly - the lady told me to screw the handle to a table, that way you can use it yourself without help - 1. put zipper pull into middle prongs of fork with body of pull facing away from fork, the pull is facing as though you would zip up a zipper (hope that makes sense) 2. Have your zipper ends the same length - 3. hold zipper ends and slide both ends at same time through the pull. If you have dexterity issues with your hand this works a charm.

Not sure why they wouldn’t want you to livestream. I live in Virginia and I love seeing the quilts in other states. What harm is there in showing quilts?
I don't understand why they would do that to you. You weren't doing anything wrong or infringing on any ones quilt ideas. You would think they would welcome these videos to promote the show. That guy WAS NOT FUNNY WHEN HE SAID ABOUT SHOOTING YOU IN THE PARKING LOT. They certainly are fools. They owe you more than just an apology. I enjoy watching you with Becca and Tiffany.
Ian I am so sorry to hear this. That’s absolutely terrible and should have never happened. I’m glad you’re okay and I don’t blame you one bit for not having anything to do with that particular show in the future.
So so sorry. I moved from Atlanta to very rural Georgia. I am afraid it isn't much better than Texas. The atmosphere is hateful if you do not act, think, vote, or worship as they do. I'm just so tired of it. And I am a 68 year old white woman....I cannot begin to comprehend how people of color are treated....I am happy you are safe and only good wishes for you in DC
Plano Quilt Guild needs to have someone in charge of show events to correct their printed brochures to include videography, and/or live streaming, and to have additional signage posted at the entrance of the show and entry of vendor area as well for future quilt exhibits. As for the fact no one contacted you from last year, that is their own lack of follow-up if they in fact were not pleased that you lives streamed it last year. I would still file a police report of the threat made by the person referencing having a shotgun in his vehicle. He may say it was a joke, but I feel you do need to protect yourself. Crazy people do crazy things, and he has your name. Please use caution and look out for your own safety. Thank you for the lovely video of the quilts on display. Sorry it turned into such a negative encounter.

I’m so very sorry you experienced this horrible interaction, but you showed such class and grace in the way you handled the situation, which speaks volumes about your character. It’s just a shame that at an event that should be enjoyable and peaceful, this word was even mentioned. Stopping there on that topic. Oh no! I'm SO sorry that happened to you! I haven't lived in TX for nearly 20 years and that sort of mentality was prevalent even then. On the other hand, I'm glad you will be moving to a safer part of the country.
I just sent an email to the quilt show. They are responsible for the behavior of employees and volunteers. This is outrageous. I'm sorry you had to experience this.
I was watching live when you were told you couldn’t film the quilt show. I am shocked at how that was handled. That person should not be allowed to be at the quilt show based on what he said, it was VERY Inappropriate! I can tell you were caught off guard and handling it in the best way you can. Hmmm....I hadn't thought about the copyright and limitations on photography and I think live streaming would be considered photography. Much misunderstanding occurred, seems to me. Based on your experience, I'm guessing it is best to contact the quilt show organizers at any of the shows to see if live streaming is allowed ahead of time. The thing is, that a lot of the quilt guild organizers are 'older'..in age and experience with social media and might not yet be on board with how much You Tube live streaming and other avenues could enhance their attendance and income stream.
Congratulations on your blue ribbon. Not shocked about the gun threat. Watching U.S. politics from the other side of the pond it seems the southern states are gun loving and ignorant. I am aware this is not true of everyone from these states but the few tarnish the many. So sad that a quilt show can be life threatening and intimidating. You rock Ian.
Just found your channel tonight. Love that you made this video. A year or so ago I bought the Joy and some iron on vinyl just so I could make quilt labels for my quilts. I wanted to iron on vinyl labels to my quilts or to a piece of fabric and sew that on. I have only got the machine out of the box. And so it sits. I'd love if you showed to do the vinyl label. Sounds like grounds for checking into lawsuit. Crazies need to be checked. Take em to court and guess what? They will check their crazy. So upsetting you were treated like that in a quilting community. So upsetting.

Well, marked that one off my to-do list….so glad you’re safe. Sounds like you met the guy who beat up the other kids in elementary school for their lunch money, and then just told the teacher, “But he WANTED to give me his lunch money….” As a culture, if we don’t deal with bullies then, we suffer the consequences of not dealing with them in 3rd grade for the rest of our lives.

Sorry to say ,you were not happy to comply but you put your equipment away anyway. I can understand the quilt show. Everybody is running around making videos and livestreams. For those of us who just want to enjoy the quilts it is horrible to constantly have you all just loudly talking at every corner. Whether you take a picture, video or you livestream ( the last two being moving pictures) it is all included in their booklet (pamphlet) about they not wanting it done. For the matter of the person saying what he did (I am from Germany) this is typical for the US and the Trump supporters. That should have consequences for that person. Because that was a threat on your life and should be punished. But we all know there would not be any positive outcome. For your move I wish you all the best and I hope you will like it better where you are moving to.
I make a Paducah Quilt Show video every year for my channel. On the first year, I asked the first person working that I saw, if I am permitted to film. The person shrugged their shoulders and didn’t utter one word. I took that as a ‘yes’ and started filming immediately (not a live stream). So far so good. They will no doubt shut me down one day. It’s probably the greedy vendors that drive such a policy. Sorry for your negative experience, but congratulations on your blue ribbon.
Ian, you are not at fault. I 100 percent back you up ok this you dont deserve any of this. They need a clear policy and post it, and ya im shook. You deserve better, my friend. Crafting or quilting should be a safe place
shame on them, that was free advertising for their quilt show that most of us would not have known about. now its bad advertising and none of us will go to the plano quilt show. they lost out on 15 thousands people coming to their quilt show. bad texas
