Hey Indian Unreal Dev Here, I Have Worked With ALS For Years And I Prefer You Make Your Own Replicated Locomotion System As ALS Replicated Version Is Not Properly Replicated It Has Too Many Flaws And Will Hurt You In Future And Also You Just Need Basic Locomotion And This Can Be Performance Heavy Especially For Mobile And That All Performance Is Just Wasted For Nothing So Its Just Better To Make Your Own Replicated Locomotion From Start Instead Of Regretting Later And Yea I Am Also Working For Making A Replicated Locomotion System Based Off Of Knowledge From ALS (I Know It Can Be Hard For You To Make Your Own Replicated Locomotion System As You Are a Newbie But Yea You Can Also Use Basic Locomotion As For Your Game Type You Dont Need Much And Also It Will Save Performance Just Keep Things As Simple As Possible) Cheers :D
Thanks for your support, really appreciate. I am not using ALS Locomotion, I've already made my own replicated locomotion. Currently I am just using 3-4 Animations of ALS and Character from ALS project.
how about respawning at a certain position, like a checkpoint or something. i did it but it has some issues. like u walk in on something, die and takes a chunk of life, then respawn. and cycle continues until your life is 0

friend if u develop this game full time then you can implement a feature where stealing stuff which is important etc Phones and jewels which can detect you easily with a higher wanted level

you need to practice and experiment on your own how things works. Learning is all about that. Just try to experiment with different things and logic, you will slowly start to understand it.
I think thief's should have more stamina in the house (or where ever they are stealing,) but less stamana outside the house. And police have more stamina outside, but less inside
my take: __ stamina system __ = for stamina system, offer consumables that the thief can consume to get stamina back, make the consumables pickups and store in the inventory so that it increases the challenge __ weight system __ = weight system can give the police added advantage and can shift the balance towards the police. you have to balance the odds for both thief and the police. to balance for thief, how about use threshold values for both stamina and weight or maybe just the weight so if the weight is equal or above a value, the speed decreases but stamina either depletes slower (if in range => this much) as compared to before or it doesn't depletes at all when weight is equal or above a value. = you can also create drop-off or "hide item" points where the thief may hide stolen items at places to make up for added weight. this may also make the thief come back for the item and it will increase replay-ability = you can also create conveyor belt or moving platform or train that can take the item from point A to point B but police get to know about it somehow (maybe as the player pushes a button, some sound is triggered)... this way the thief may get some allowance for stamina lose and also police get informed hope it helps.. good luck
The idea of adding consumables for thieves is great, definitely I'm going to look into it. The idea of dropping item in hidden place was already in my mind. I still haven't told about every single thing about this game yet. As new devlog will be published I'll explain details of everything. And yeah I gatta do somethin to balance the gameplay for both thieves and police. Thanks for sharing your ideas, I'll surely look into them!
yooo at 5:32 you said why would a police need an inventory is wrong i guess you should also gave police inventory bcuz if where will police puts his torches hand cuffs and all and how will police catch them without hand cuffs you should give invenotry to poilice also and you can also gave police a taser bcuz to paralyze them for few second and it have paralyze limit of 5-10sec and taser can be use once and for recharge it has sme time limit and then you can use it

If you guys using UE5 and can't control the character after spawning it. Then just go to your Character Blueprint -> Detail Panel -> Auto Possess Player -> Set it to "Player 0". Do this with all the characters you want to spawn.

@@mariolamperti8551 As I can understand your selection style, its like taken3 or valorant. So when you click on the character button, right after that you should save you character. No need to make separate button for that. ✌️
How are you going to execute multiplayer ? You have to use EOS or host your game on a dedicated server. Even experienced developers can't do this easily.
As a developer myself your doing amazing. I love the game idea and vision, I wish you success 🎉 On the same topic I’m making a game about cops and robbers as well. But the main focus is street racing and cops chases. Also multiplayer for PC. I look forward to more of your devlogs ❤
As a developer myself Nice job man. I really thought this was gonna be like a scam game like the greed of man shit when I saw als characters but you really made it good, doing good man. Although I recommend changing the model as it's not so flexible like you can only color it but you can't really customise it. Additionally it will make it look like the greed of man game and everybody will think it's a scam so it will be hard to market. Also the model requires 11 draw calls each I think which is not so performant as each body part where you can change the colour of the character is a new draw call. So i recommend using a cheaper character. Also instead of Painting the police black paint them blue and give em a police hat and make the criminals like a mask thing like that criminal mask around their eyes. Good luck with the game and don't use lumen for it. Bake lights instead.
Thanks dude for your appreciation ✌️ Yeah I am aware of those draw calls but these ALS characters are just for the prototype. I will replace those character with the proper models. And all the animations are going to be the same (through retargeting). Since it's UE4 so it don't support lumen but I am using movable directional light. Idk how much performance gap is there between them but I'll try the best to optimise
@@VercionGames true, its very common to think about similar ideas but really your games is very different from that game. your game just made me remember that game and looking back on it basically the only similarities are that there are cops and robbers and the police have to stop the robbers from robbing, thats about it
Nice Work my dude im using ALS as well. It's cool but complicated af. maybe consider trying the new motion-matching system that EPIC just released. its actually made by the same guy that made the ALS system but its supposedly way more multiplayer-friendly since it's used in Fortnite and should work better for mobile.
I'll love to use motion matching but I am using UE4, and motion matching is not supported in UE4, also my pc is not capable to handle UE5. Also as a mobile game I think the locomotion system is working fine.
If you'll watch my UE lag fix video, you'll see, I am using Android Vulkan rendering to get more fps and many more optimization. And I am using UE4.27.2 cause UE5 sucks a lot in my pc🥲

Are you using ue4 over ue5? also motion matching might be helpful for your character in addition supposably has performance increase over the locomotion when there is like around 50 players. Although motion matching still has a way to go like needing to be thread safe and some other things i think it might be better than the locomotion.
Yeah I'm using Ue4 cause my pc couldn't handle ue5, and there are some other reasons for using it, like UE5 does not support armv7 Androids. I'll be happy to use motion matching but first I need to test it's performance for mobile devices.
@@VercionGames keep using ue4 it runs way better and is easier to optimize etc. also the new ue5 additions to the software aren't even worth the loss of frames

A lesson would be good...If you didn't get a door at the end that can't be cloned. As I understand it, we need to look for additional lessons on arrays.
May be I didn't understood properly, but if there are many clones of doors (same actors) then you can use "Get actor of all class" node, which will return array, from where you can get any specific actor you want depending on your need of logic.

@@VercionGames you can try with armor. have character put on armor and save that character. Ive been searching for a tutorial like that but all i found was armor placement but they dont save the character
