నా చిన్నప్పుడు మాల వేసుకుంటే నియమాలు కఠినంగా పాటించే వాళ్ళం. కానీ ఇప్పుడు స్వాములలో నియమ నిష్ఠలే కనిపించడంలేదు. ఇంక శబరిమల నా చిన్నప్పుడు అంటే 1987---1999 ల్లో నేను మా తమ్ముడు మా నాన్నగారు మా ఆఫీస్ స్టాఫ్ కారు డ్రైవర్లు మా బాబాయి మా మావయ్యలు అందరూ కలిసి ఒక 40 మంది మాల వేసుకుని అందరం కలసి శబరిమలై యాత్రకు వెళ్ళేవారం అప్పుడు ఎరిమేలి పంబ ఎంత బాగుండేవో. పంబ లో సాయంత్రం6:00 గంటలకి స్నానం చేసి ఇరుముడి నెత్తిన పెట్టుకుని కొండ ఎక్కుతుంటే ఆ రాళ్ళు ముళ్ళు మధ్య చెట్టు వేర్లు తగులుతూ ఉంటే నడిచి కొండ ఎక్కేవాళ్ళం అప్పాచ్చి మేడు దాకా ఎక్కి కిందకి చూస్తే పంబా నది మా కాళ్ళ కింద ఉన్నట్లు ఉండేది .కొండ అంతా ఎక్కిన తర్వాత పదునట్టాంపడి దగ్గరకు వచ్చి మొదటి మెట్టు దగ్గరే కొబ్బరికాయ కొట్టే వాళ్ళం స్వామి సన్నిధానం దగ్గర అంగ ప్రదక్షణ చేసేవారం ప్రిలిగ్రీమ్స హోటల్ కి వెళ్ళాకా మా గురు స్వామి చేయించిన ఫలహారం తిని పడుకుని ప్రాతఃకాలంలో లేచి మళ్ళీ ఇంకొకసారి స్వామి దర్శనానికి వెళి మాళికాపురత్తమ్మ గుడికి వెళి అక్కడ కొబ్బరికాయ దొర్లించి అమ్మవారి దర్శనం చేసుకుని కొండ పరిసర ప్రాంతాలు తిరుగుతూ వుంటే చాలా ప్రశాంతంగా వుండేది ప్రకృతి అందాలు దానికి తోడై అయ్యప్ప తపో శక్తి ఇచ్చే ప్రశాంత కరమైన ఆనందం ఇప్పుడు డెవలప్ పేరుతో కొండని నాశనం ఛేసేసారు ఇప్పుడు ఆప్రశాంతత లేదు అంతా గాబరగానే వుంది. నా దృష్టిలో మనుషులు అందమైన ప్రకృతిని నాశనం చేసే చీడ పురుగులు. స్వామియే శరణం అయ్యప్ప
