I was born in Post, Texas in 1939- not far from Wink, Texas- where Roy Orbison was from (also near Lubbock- Buddy Holly, and Littlefield- Waylon Jennings). I remember when Roy was a freshman at North Texas State in Denton, and released his first hit- Rockhouse. He was one in a million, and K. D. Lang is just as amazing.
Wow what a glorious video! Am 77 and this is one of THE most incredible duets ever..such emotion w musical interpretation/ connection not to mention an otherworldly difficult song to sing!!...I'm 77 n can still knock off Unchained Melody before sunrise but have ZERO idea how Roy performed on stage it seems forever without any effort. KD LANG! You were one of the backup singers for the black and white concert with Springsteen Costello, Bonnie Raitt Etc and are still having a great career n yr performance of "Hallelujah" is unsurpassed.... sorry I'm rambling between my tears n a few Friday beers n I'm very okay with that..
Perfection! What these two did is perfection. This song has made me cry every time for 50 years and it will never stop moving me. What Roy and KD did together is so beautiful!
By the time the Lisa and the Macintosh were coming out, the Apple 2 was advancing so rapidly that it was actually in a position to become the cheaper, more functional, better spec'd machine including a comparable GUI (that was actually in color), plus better backward compatibility. The 8-Bit Guy has a wonderful video about this, called like Apple and Steve Jobs biggest mistake.
She's now the greatest female vocalist in the world. And I can hear Roy's influence in every song I've heard her sing. _Three Cigarettes In An Ashtray_ came immediately to mind. Has she covered any other Roy Orbison songs other than _Crying?_ It would be wonderful if she recorded an entire album of Orbison.
Chicago Bears BLEW IT with Flutie. Didn't give him a fair chance and didn't fully embrace him as QB. And I loved McMahon but he didn't help....... being a total jerk to Flutie.
