Andrew? If your car has a 1HZ motor, then why has the bonnet a 'bulge'? It sure does sound familiar to my own tractor of a 1HZ but my bonnet does not have that hump.....
Every wide body post-2007 (wide front end developed for the V8, with the wider front axle) has the bulge, no matter what engine is fitted. If it has a V8, its also has the intercooler slot in it.
Any 'modern' 'hi tech' diesel is a piece of sh1t because the manufacturer is trying to beat emissions b/s , max out boost , overstress the motor , max out the service intervals and do everything to make an engine fail , so they can sell you an even more unreliable piece of junk . I had a 1HZ diesel that had way , way over 2 million km on it before I sold it due to a buggered wiring harness after an electrical fire caused by some genius attatching wires that should have been left alone on replacing a head gasket . I would like to see a 2.8 gd6 , worked very hard , get 1 million km , never mind almost 3 million . Just buy the 79 with a 1HZ and be done with it , no turbos to blow , virtually zero electronics to blow , a cam belt every 150000 km vs a new turbo every 160000km , makes sense then . If you want to drag race your diesel land cruiser , you are a wanker , these cars are about offroad ability and not a journalists fantacy of quarter mile king .
You shouldnt just get rid of your garmin, also get rid of that microphone. What went wrong with the sound? A nice rode mic would do the job just lovely
Noticed your comment about needing to be aware of safety in some of these parts. Obviously there are some places worse than others, and you lived a lot of your life in SA but do you just cross your fingers? Or do you take other measures to protect yourself over there?
My favourite type of 4XO video ! I skip over all the build stuff as I’ll never own a troopy, but these every day gibberish on the go I love. Great work, thank you 🎉🙌🏻
"The Ineos Grenadier are all the same" … What? Coming from the factory all the troopies are the same too. Just modify it like any Land Cruiser. Plenty of options out already to do that. There just was a big overland show in Germany with tons of products already available for the Ineos, including two popup rooftop conversions already. Garmins - I have three of them - purchased over the years. I hate them all. If a company sucks, it's Garmin.
I wonder when you were overtaking, did it feel choked and down on power due to the experimental snorkel that was installed?? Could have some issues with high flow under stressful acceleration maybe?
Hi Andrew, great content!! Working with 1hz land cruisers for a long time, the only buzzer/alarm I have ever heard was because of water in fuel filter, I think that is your problem. The only times a 1hz is too slow... Is when YOU are in a hurry😂 Welcome back!!
As always following you. Greetings from Victorinox Country. By the way, i love my Winemaster of Victorinox (you can open also a beer with it 😂) Cheers or as we say: Viva!
Hi Andrew thx for sharing and keeping my dreams alive..., but it sounds like you're going to change the engine to something more powerful am I right...
Andrew are you aware you are camping illegally off road in community concessions without paying camping fees to communities that really need the income and encouraging all your audience to do the same ?
@@labourlawact7826 because the land he is camping on the communities have the lease and the goal is they get some income from having the wildlife there which encourages them to not change the landscape to cattle areas . There are a few remote wild designated bush camping options in the landscape which you pay small Monies to camp at . At least then that small Monies feeds back to community trusts
mopany stumps going through a tire... yikes! changing a tyre would have me a bit worried. Lifting it down would be ok, but having to lift a wheel up onto bolts might be a bit of a problem, if by yourself - like when replacing the flat tyre with the spare then putting the flat tyre on the rear spare mount
I have a technique where I can do it on my own. I roll the wheel into position, sit on the sand, cradle the wheel on my legs and lift it onto the bolts. Getting the wheel back onto the rear carrier is more difficult, but with the aid of a strap, I can do that was well.
Stupid question for you, Andrew. Why don’t you switch off your engine when you’re away from the vehicle? Saving the starter motor or is fuel consumption better without starting and stopping? My apologies, that was two stupid questions.
It would seem, base on what Andrew was saying about the level of crime rate in Africa, you have to be more wary of other people in towns, than predatory animals, in the bush. The bush is safer for humans.
I second your opinion about brand names plastered on the front of items, it sucks. Would have loved to buy some EGON products, but unfortunately they do exactly that.
