This makes me recall that movie of 1965, “The Flight of the Phoenix” when the model builder of aircraft said something about tolerance and coefficients of drag and lift where more critical than real sized aircraft. This proves what he said, even a supposed unstable design. No design is a bad design if you not persevered enough.

Belly landings do happen at times. A good trick is to pull the flaps back up almost as you touch down to prevent damage to the flaps . And kill the motor 3 or 4 feet from the deck to possible save the 2 bladed prop. Now if you have 4 blades, your buying a new prop.

If I might suggest, it appears that your engine was running until you contacted the ground, the practice in manned aircraft when belly landing is to kill the engine and try to get the propeller horizontal on short final so you don’t have a prop strike. Saves the prop and an engine overhaul. May not be possible with RC aircraft though.
