The A380 will always remain an incredibly impressive aircraft. But unfortunately, you're absolutely right. It's no longer cutting-edge. The future belongs to models like the A350 or the Dreamliner.

That is not a thirteen month time-lapse. I can see vheicles drive the entire street in the time it takes to add a level to the building. How is the camera so steady? Why are the light levels the same in every frame? I can see clouds pass by too. Is this meant to be real?...

It’s probably been heavily edited. They probably centered all of the photos and (obviously) did some CGI work at the end.

IT ISN'T REAL. It's an imagined time-lapse sequence to show you what the construction looked like. It was done with CGI for the tourist-trap museum to dazzle and educate. No-one took day-by-day photos during construction. It's just that people are used to seeing them now, so the museum obliged its visitors and created one.

The Eurowings Q400 were operated by Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter / LGW. The Q400 that flew for Brussels until 2017, were owned and operated by Flybe, so Brussels never operated Q400 itself.

Yeah, you're right! Sounds similar to the old MD-80 series. I guess, also these engines have a comparatively low bypass ratio. Modern engines sound much less exciting. The power reduce part at 2:39 is very worth listening to. Yes, it was. Although the approach was not really turbulent. Also the descent was very unpleasant. The pilot used the speed brakes in a very unprofessional way. Either 0% or 100%. The passengers were thrown forward and backward in their seats all the time. This is also my dad's opinion. He is an aircraft mechanic.

Great Video. Always love landing in Cairns. Still remember cairns airport on the other side old very old Ansett days 1970`s and 1980`s. Ansett and TAA ` Trans Australian Airlines ` . Then Cairns airport built where it is now late 1980`s the airport inside and out so beautiful.

Cairns was great 1970`s and 1980`s. Fresh Water Hotel with beer garden in the back. Back in the 80`s nice to sit out there cold beer or Cold Coke but soft drink pour into a glass like Yellow Mellow Fanta and Tab. Trinity Beach Hotel on top of the hill on a good day you can see Green island 1980`s same again beer garden. Cairns Airport Ansett TAA days other side where kids wear there shoes and socks up just to go on a holiday neat clothes. The 1980`s best years for the Airports. Cairns simple beautiful even remember no Pier there we sat on the grass and eat fish and chips wrap in newspapers take away then go down to the wharf have a look at the boats. I can even pull up Google Earth and seriously show where we sat on the glass by old pictures.

@@rocknwash Sitting in a beer garden with some friends and enjoying cold beer and good food is a very popular tradition in my country. Due to our cool climate we can only do that for about half of the year. The remaining time we have to sit inside. Your comments sound like very precious memories. Keep them in mind. They are capable of spiriting you up in sad times. I hope you also have some nice photos from then.

@wurzelseppszg9739
@wurzelseppszg9739 4 года назад
Thank you! Well, the approach was a little bit turbulent, but the touchdown was reasonably smooth. I guess the pilot was trying to catch up time because the departure in Darwin was about 15 minutes late as far as I can remember. I don't think it was due to other traffic since there is not much traffic in ASP in general.

Great Video. How the airport changed so much from when I was growing up in Gove Nhulunbuy in the 1970`s and 1980`s. Airport back then was great plus the Old Ansett and TAA I still remember landing in Gove from Cairns as a kid back then you had to dress up board the aircraft I still remember smoking on the aircraft. Great Video loved every bit of it. Hope you do more landings plus take off videos from Gove.

Thank you for your nice comment, my friend! It's interesting to read how the airport has changed over decades. But I'm afraid I cannot offer you more videos of Gove because I'm from Salzburg, Austria (about 120 km from Munich, Bavaria). It was from a roundtrip we did including both islands of New Zealand as well as Sydney, Cairns, Darwin, Alice Springs and Melbourne. Watch a great landing ` Lufthansa A319-100 Landing Salzburg SZG Runway 33 (circle to land) ` ended up watching it. Very thing so green over there and the Mountains with the snow looks beautiful. I noticed in the video a lot of land is that for farming ? Also what`s the history of your town please ?
@wurzelseppszg9739
@wurzelseppszg9739 4 года назад
@@rocknwash Yes, indeed. We have a lot of farmland. But also the city is very green due to the so-called "greenland declaration" from the good old 80's, which virtually forces the politicians to preserve a huge amount of greenland. I really love my hometown. I was born there, I've got my family, my friends and my job there. I guess I would never emigrate to somewhere else. The only disadvantages, in my opion, are that we have to drive four hours to go the sea (Venice, Italy) and the rather cool climate (see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salzburg#Climate) - November to March are quite unpleasant, but we usually don't have large amounts of snow. History: About 500 BC, the Celts settled here, about 15 BC, the Romans founded the city of Iuvavum. In the middle ages there were many conflicts between different (religious) groups. That's why the castle was built (you can see it at about 6:50). Between WWI and WWII there was a lot of poverty. In WWII, we suffered some damages due to the allied area bombings, but by far not as severe as many German cities like Berlin, Hamburg, Munich or Dresden. From about 1965-1995 (with some interruptions) we had a significant growth in economy (especially in tourism) and wealth, which unfortunately seems to be declining since 2010. And last but not least: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in Salzburg! Details about our history here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salzburg#History
