We are a non-profit with the mission to encourage and support participation in the sports of cross country and track & field, mainly at the high school level. We do this by providing high quality video coverage of invitational and championship meets, and by creating behind-the-scenes stories of the athletes and teams that inspire current and future participants. We also seek to build and support a positive, healthy cross country and track community through engagement, music and a bit of inside humor. Our base is in Southern California and our coverage extends selectively to other parts of the state and to nationally prominent meets and stories.
I'm going to email the CIF to see if they'll let hdrunners film and post the State meet. Please anyone reading this do the same and enlist your friends. Is there any particular wording you'd recommend other than me asking if you can "do" the CIF State meet? I'll then post that info on my old high school's Facebook page and ask them to contact them as well. Get the athletes and coaches behind us. That organization should have commissioned someone to film the state meet every year since it's inception as a permanent and sensible record. No sense of history. I posted FSW broadcasts of several SS Masters and CIF State meets from the 90's and 2000's. I'm doing my part. I'm thinking of buying a really good camera and seeing if I can get on top of the CIF State meet press box next year. The last meet I attended was 1995 (crazy Obea Moore 4x4 anchor). I watched all the outstanding SS state-qualifying meets but not the State meet. It's like watching "Titanic" but not seeing the ending. Now I'll never know if it sunk or completed its voyage. He knows he can beat Fasthorse in a sprint. He sees him all the time, they are in the same league. Fasthorse would have been State champion a couple of times, but each time Dybdahl has been in a big race, he can hang with Fasthorse as he separates from everybody else and when its important enough of a race to win, he pulls the trigger, bang.
Perfect song for Rylee shaking off the noise and still achieving great things!!! CIF Champion 2 years in a row. I am so proud of her!!!! Thank you HDrunners this is perfect!
@@lukecarroll19 True. I've actually posted that several times. My point was: there were a lot of sub-9's at State. Usually the winner, maybe the top 3, but it drops off after that. Historically, we've had many state champs not break 9. I had to look up an example: 1991 to 2002 only 4 guys total got under 9, including Meb and Ryan Hall. It's not that there has been a general improvement. Back in 1975 had two guys fighting it out at 8:45, for a full 2 miles.
I think it would have been interesting to see fasthorse run since he only ran a single 3200 this season and it was 8:45. He definitely had potential in this event but he thought he was a sahlman and tried to break 4
