I usually stock up around Christmas for my year supply of AAA, AA, D & 9 Volt alkaline batteries at big box store. Now one nogoodnic manufacturer had all.of the batteries turned so its impossible to tell what country they are made in. I refuse to purchase or use any safety or test equipment, LED'S electrical supplies & batteries from lying cheating lack of quality control communist china. The two Wal-Mart's near me never have the battery assortment in one locations. They might have AA'S in 3 locations, D's in camping etc.
@remocres

also some way the battery's are used determines do you need cheap or the longest lasting and sadly both Eveready and Duracell outsourced which means they not necessarily the manufacturer any more just slap the lable of x y z brand . now some outsourcing comes with strict methods and materials . but if not strictly testing china especially cheats not sure how other asian country's are. odd case i bought an alarm clock with the big old style bells but it clearly stated use only carbon zinc not alkaline AA so i buy 8 for 1.25 dollar tree also use them in my hurricane lamps that take 3 AA since only used 1 or 2 x year i have stopped leaving batteries installed i remove them rubber band together so they stat together

I saw a video about two towns that were pretty close together and both of them had battery factories in them. They were the main employers in the area and many families had members that worked in one factory and another worked in the other town. One of the factories made Rayovac batteries, I can't remember what the other one made. But Energizer bought both of them and then had meetings with the employees telling them how valuable they were and the future looked good blah blah. Close to Christmas they announced that they were closing both plants. And raising the prices of the batteries. The two towns were devastated as they were both very small towns and the battery factories provided most of the jobs in the area. Typical Wall Street. I've had far more taken from me by guys in three piece suits than guys with a ski mask and hoodie.

Years ago I raced RC cars competitively and we always used alkalines in the controllers. We had a variety of battery testing and analyzing equipment and Energizer always came out on top. Sad to see they have lost their mojo, but I'm glad someone is carrying the torch to test and compare batteries.

I use Energizer due reduced risk of leakage. Duracell have a bit more energy capacity but a ruined device due to leakage is a cost also that must be factored in. If the leakage isn't bad, some can be fixed with vinegar, but some devices are ruined. Curious why you find such capacity variation, since alkaline chemistry is well understood....maybe different optimization or cost issues...
@joeMW284

I used to work for Rayovac in Madison, WI when they were more than just a brand name owned by Energizer. I always thought they were the best value as far as alkaline batteries go. The R&D team at Rayovac was outstanding. It's interesting to see that they outlast the batteries of the company that bought them out. They're still my first choice.

Good job! Your results are exactly what I expected within the same chemistry, a few cells changing positions but keeping the overall trend because all alkalines have "ballpark" voltage strengths. Now if you switch to carbon-zinc (heavy-duty), nickel-metal hydride, or lithium disposables, you'll end up seeing a MUCH wider difference between methods, than staying within the same chemistry, because the loss or gain in voltage is significant to the total energy most devices require. If you do this, it will be interesting how revealing your cost value comparison shakes out, all chemistries considered. Many people want alternatives to alkaline due to leakage.
@kev-reviews
@kev-reviews 10 дней назад
I thought carbon-zinc batteries were the most prone to leakage
@pault6533
@pault6533 10 дней назад
@@kev-reviews This is true. I didn't mean to say these are all leak proof alternatives, just that the carbon-zinc has a different voltage profile. It would be revealing to compare a carbon-zinc cell to an alkaline in the Opus, then also do a comparison in the CD player. I suspect you would find loss in reported run time would be much greater for the player than it would be for the mA*h measurement. If I was to rank the cost/time of running the four cells I mentioned in power-hungry devices, rechargables are cheapest (over many charges), then lithium primaries, then alkalines, then carbon-zinc most expensive. Thanks again for sharing your excitement and data!

These types of mowers are manufactured at the lowest price point per component possible. That doesn't mean they can't stand the test of time. It's up to the owner in how they use it and how they are maintained. I bought a John Deere L110 back in November of 2003 and it has run way beyond expectations. It has the Kohler 17.5 hp engine. I change the oil and filter every other year. It has the original spark plug. I've replaced the belt and blades once in 20 years. Original tires too. Now I have seen people destroy these cheaper mowers in less time than you've had yours. Glad to see someone out there tending to their equipment like they should.

What I hear from you is if you are a technical user who probably even read the fine print, then you can understand what Instant Ink is in detail, and you can understand that the HP+ program is Not mandatory and which caveats that one comes with; what the detailed terms are, and you can make an informed choice about the value for your current needs and wants. You are not the average consumer by a long shot then. You may be uniquely positioned in your printing needs there -- many people can go months without needing to print anything, then have a sudden need for a big project. Anyway that does Not mean the way HP+ & Instant Ink programs are marketed are not incredibly scammy/exploitive and advertised in a deceptive way that should not be encouraged. It's the form of advertising and marketing - Laying a minefield for people who don't read all the fine print and conditions discussed below the top line advertising for a value-added service to the Printer they just purchased; while sneaking in digital locks. You can start with the fact "Included" cartridges shipped with the printers will sometimes be Instant Ink cartridges, Then the average consumer had to sign up for that trial or Instant ink trial to use the ink included in your purchase of the printer. You aren't going all the way back to the store to get your first cartidge working -- the consumer is made to think signing up for these things is Just the proper setup procedure for the new printer, and the Instant Ink trial is essentially mandatory (As enforced by locking that starter cartridge to the program). As for Instant Ink: the top-line advertising describes it as a Plan that provides Original HP Ink. Regardless of how it is logical from a business standpoint for HP to put Digital Locks on that ink due to their business risks.. Of course it makes sense if you understand the plan's business model, But not for the average consumer who just heard about Instant Ink for the first time in their new printer's documentation - The issue is False advertising by omitting that caveat from the Top line description of the service. What people are lead to believe is that they are paying for is a monthly service that includes the Ink delivery - Once in their possession they believe the ink is their property. It's described as Ink Delivery service in the advertising - not an Ink Cartridge rental service. The discussion about Activation and Deactivation of cartridges does not Appear in the Instant Ink program's flyer or advertising. When you pay for a monthly service that includes the delivery of physical goods - such as Food, Books, Magazines, etc. You generally own the thing after it is delivered to you physically. You have had to pay for that service before you received the delivery. The company advertising the subscription has to tell you otherwise before payment! If HP advertised it as "Original HP Ink cartridges* Which may be used only on printers with an active Instant Ink subscription and must be returned upon cancellation." They would be fine. That is Not what the advertising literature for the Instant Ink program says. It just says Original HP Ink Cartridges. So if the consumer does Not read carefully and thoroughly, they are in for some serious surprises, and that Alone is an issue.

Epson and HP is an absolute scam. They rip people off, they try and monopolise markets. They implement horrendous software to prevent using competitors ink and users using their own hardware. Their cartridges barely contain any ink and all the added trash to them to disable their function and force users to purchase new ones is just vile. You're getting ripped off and you're boasting about it. Truly disgusting. Avoid these companies like the plague, and this channel too apparently

Hard pass for me. I've been a Brother laser user for the last 15 years, and I just bought my second machine about a year ago. I strictly use off brand toners. The Brother machines are built to last regardless of what brand of ink I use. While I spent a bit more upfront on my hardware, over time I've spent less and had fewer headaches than family and friends that buy a new HP or similar inkjet every 6-18 months.

What I'd like to know is how the reverse-mowing function works, assuming it does. My old Craftsman (bought 20 years ago) had a very simple method for this: rotate the ignition one position counterclockwise and use the forward/backward lever to go either forward or backward while mowing. Many models now seem to have made reverse mowing much more difficult. That's not practical on my lawn - I do lots of backward mowing because I don't have room everywhere to do U-turns.
@kev-reviews

Same process on this mower. Move ignition switch back one click and press a button. Red light turns on and it can mow in reverse
@FRUMKIN1
@FRUMKIN1 15 дней назад
@@kev-reviews But do you have to press the button EVERY time you want to go in reverse? Or, once pressed, can you mow backward and forward repeatedly? Also, do you have to keep the reverse button depressed manually or is it just like a push-button, on/off switch? There are areas of my lawn where I go 10 ft. forward, 10 ft backward, back and forth maybe 20 times in a row gradually moving left or right. I can't be going through a multi-step process to get the mower in reverse every time.
