Top-notch stuff! Supposedly, this episode should have been aired on 24 May 1970, but ABC decided not to broadcast it, choosing to repeat two episodes from the first series in its place. Seven minutes of footage, as well as much of the dialogue and story, are apparently taken from an instalment of "Rocket Robin Hood" entitled "Dementia Five", which was produced by the same animation company responsible for series two and three of "Spider-Man". As for Jimi, this embryonic jam on "Astro Man" fits perfectly, and the way that you've integrated the footage of his performance in Gothenburg from September 1970 is excellent. Thank you! I presumably don't need to mention his genius, as it's self-evident.

There's some good information regarding the episode on Kevin McCorry's old Spider-Man page, as well as in Edward Gross' book "Spider-Man Confidential" and "Stan Lee: How Marvel Changed the World" by Adrian Mackinder. Incidentally, I assume that you edited the "Astro Man" jam that is over eleven minutes in length and available on the box set of the same name down for this brilliant video. Is that correct? Failing that, perhaps there's yet another, similar jam.
@@readstorieskids I thought so. Thanks for that information. The "Astro Man" six CD box set is an official release that contains this jam in its entirety. It's also featured on the "Late Studio Sessions" collection, which is a bootleg. It is listed there as "Astro Man (Take 7)".
Ralph was going to have some fun with this one. Smiling Stan probably almost had a heart attack when he actually saw the finished product, not that he was too involved himself with this. What a trip. You will notice this series is usually dark and trippy or bright a d sunny. Its all good. Glad i was a kid experiencing this back in the day. People have no idea how strongly this program rerun through the 70s 80s 90s and into the next millennium.

Hello, this entire soundcheck is the best! it's called berkeley soundcheck...look for it along with Flac and Mp3 and youl find it. I got mine many years ago. If you dont find it let me know ill send you
