which one is better, the above shown spray or 3M Scotchgard Pro Clear Paint Protection ? Also can you please make a video on how to spray the whole car.
This is good stuff. Learnt this when I did body and paint qualification level 1-3 but it's been years so forgot the fundamentals. Need to repair my motorcycle petrol tank. Hopefully I can respray with an aerosole rather than getting my old compressor and air fed gun out.
Don't ever use glazing putty, ever. Use( METAL GLAZE, Polyester Finishing and Blending Putty). It says it on the label and only apply half of the amount of hardener with METAL GLAZE. Be a professional and use the real stuff. Good luck.
On s'entend que c'est un bazou le char et que la réparation va faire la job pour le temps qui reste a la voiture. Un carrossier ca aurait coûter 1000$ pour un char qui vaut ca!
So does the color compound get added 4 hours after the adhesive or can it be added right away? Instructions in kit and in this video are unclear about whether the 4 hours is before you can sit on the car, or before you can apply the color compound.
HOW FUCKING LONG DOES THE HEAT HAVE TO BE ON THE COMPOUND BEFORE IT CURES? ASSHOLES! It's not in the directions either... worthless 3m bullshit corporation
This is a bad idea, especially if you live in an area that rains a lot. Plus your insurance company won't warranty your work, just let the shop take care of it
Where did you get that gravelometer? I need one for a protective window test for a night vision camera mounted on the front of a vehicle. Thanks,Seansean.keefe@veoneer.com
Does bondo fiberglass stick to a rust converter or epoxy primer if I put them first on top of a rusted metal which has been lightly sandblasted before treatment ??
Yes. I had it on the front of my car for 2 years. It was kind of a pain to take it off where the application was thin. The first year it was very transparent. The second year it started clouding. Overall, it did a fairly good job protecting from small stone hits. I'm going to be applying it again only because I purchased enough for two application initially. After that, I've been thinking about trying clear plastidip. I'm more concerned about protection over looks.
My son sprayed an old beat up, rusted truck with that stuff. It looked pretty good. For now, I stay with products that are designed for non-destructive removal. I did apply a heavy new treatment of Paint Defender to the front fascia of my car. It sagged in a couple of areas, but I don't care. Once it's transparent, you can only see it if you're closer than 5 feet away. I let the new application cure in my garage for about 11 days. After that I prepped the area with a quality wax. The first time I had the car out in the rain, the application began to cloud up. Once the area was dry again, it went back to being clear. I guess as long as it doesn't prematurely separate from the paint surface, I'm good with it.
Yes, and it met all my expectations. It is only designed to be used for one year so each subsequent year requires it to be stripped off a reapplied. That is where I am at now so I am rewatching the video before reapplying the product. After one year I am happy to report there is not a single additional rock chip on my car. I normally hand wash my car but it held up through at least a half dozen "touchless" car washes. The thicker areas peeled right off but the areas where it sprayed on thin took some adfitional work with a plastic scraper, used very lightly of course, or my finger nail.
