ref waves bye while he's being ejected? I am 1000% sure the lad waved bye at the ref while he sat him on his vag after waxing the entire bench of girls himself.
The look on Nathan's face during this question has stuck with me the last couple years, I can't put my finger on it. It's something I have never seen before.
Hell yeah!! That's my guy! I used to work at a huge sports bar in Denver and got a chance to meet a lot of the Avs. I actually hung out with some, drinking at a strip bar, shooting the breeze, talking hockey. I even got to put a Stanley Cup ring on my finger. Never felt intimidated or awkward with any of them. Until....I got to meet and hang out with Peter. Only time I've ever been starstruck in my life, and I met LOTS of big name athletes!
I grew up watching late 80's and early 90's hockey 🏒. The high scores speaks volumes of the talent. Players had distinct styles including goaltenders. Unlike the modern COOKIE 🍪 CUTTER GOALIES OF THIS BORING ERA. THESE GOTTA BE THE MOST BORING GOALIES TO WATCH IN HISTORY. EXCEPT FOR A FEW SUCH AS FLEURY, PRICE, AND QUICK. END OF AN ERA. 😎
I'm just learning to skate, all that was available was a figure skating orientated learn to skate program who were totally cool with me showing up with hockey skates. Anyway I want to learn hockey style skating but not going to play hockey, I'm 62. No hockey, not going to be a figure skater either. My question to you is, and may be a dumb one but are you guys using the hockey sticks to help you balance? Can you do a video without the stick to help me know where to put my arms? Where do hockey players put there arms without the hockey stick? thanks for you video.
So when you are angled to the net skating parallel to the net (or in a fixed position, like dry-practice) you transfer your weight like a baseball player from back onto your front leg, thus the leg furthest away from the blade, but closest to the net (sweep through = power output). But when you are skating down the offensive zone towards the net, your weight is on the inside leg, the one closest to the puck delivering more downward pressure to maximally flex the stick (= power output). Why do "online training coach" not emphasize this distinction?!?
look at the 0:05 second mark...Gretzky has a wide open net and instead passes it back to Kurri. Just an unselfish, great play. He did that hundreds of times over the years, and you people are gonna try and compare this ovechkin communist to him...just laughable.
@@HockeyPlayersClub I played for 20 yrs. 70,s 80,s 90,s … I think everyone to big and fast there is NO room out there… I think it’s boring except for playoffs
@@HockeyPlayersClub all the teams look and play exactly the same way now. They all still play a type of zone trap. Hardly any scoring chances. its just a jumbled mess now and who ever gets the lucky bounces wins the games. All the lines play like a third line from the 80's..no creativty, and thats why scoring is still way down.
@@HockeyPlayersClub whats with this so fast garbage??...at times these guys now are skating full blast...too fast. They over skate or simply lose control of the puck...if and when they do get a 2 on 1, they blow it almost every time. The games now go long streches without a QUALITY scoring chance..its a bunch of hacking and wacking in the neutral zone, the crowds are dead quiet. This all started with these so called "defensive systems" to stop teams like the oilers etc..and now ALL the teams play that way. maybe one team will score over 300 goals in a season...in the 80's , the Oilers scored over 400 goals 5 times and almost scored 500 one year. Couple this defensive systems with ALL the goalies play exactly the same, 6'6", giant pads, and you get a boring mess. Even after rules changes to try and open up the scoring, it still didnt help...i mean they actually allow 2 and 3 line passes now...if Gretzky etc had those rules, hed have score 150 goals a year. Need more proof that all the yeams play the same?....well, a FIRST YEAR EXPANSION TEAM ALMOST WON THE STANLEY CUP IN THEIR VERY FIRST YEAR!!...that tells you right there something is wrong. Sad part is, they teach this defensive trapping garbage at the pee wee and bantam level. Gretzky and all the scoring records from the 80's will NEVER be broken, and not even close. Hes had those records going on 50 years now. If theres say 10 games one night now, 6-7 will end up either 2-1..3-2...or 4-3, the shots on goals will be almost identical, its all very robotic now. They ruined their own sport.
I believe the "chair pose" is not quite useful. Correct skating position is not in the chair pose, but when you bring your knees forward to have the best shin angle.
Nothing was mentioned about the most important aspect of a slap shot is YOUR ARMS, INITAL STARTING POSITION !!!! Seriously Bro the straightening of your arms on the initial takeaway or take back is paramount for accuracy and power. Without both arms primarily your front arm or forward arm initially starting out in a straight position will significantly reduce your accuracy and power to drive through the shot with power. Your lower hand has to slide down to lock out before the wind up. Bent arms equate to inaccuracy,. Shots the find their target outside of the pipes. PLEASE COMMENT IF ANYONE DISAGREES??? Teaching someone the slap shot without discussing initial arm position will make it tough to correct a flawed slaps shot after bad habits have been developed. Untrained habits and now retraining a player primarily a defenseman all over again will be a challenge for any player Ehhh.
Same as golf, move the weight from the back to the front. Somehow most people play golf the other way than you do hockey, bandy etc. But its all about generating speed
The explanations and cues were very descriptive and helpful. Thanks. Would love to see an extended version of this video too. Can't wait to unleash this in my beer league.
This is awesome! I'm an adult who's just getting into hockey for the first time. Grew up skating, but realized recently that if you're just going to free skate you might spend your entire life skating on inside edges only. My outside edge balance is super weak, but I've been focusing on it a lot recently and this video is going to be my next rink companion. Thanks so much!
