I quite like the zooms and use of the S5 in this. How do you like using the S5 in all the different environments? btw I create short movies and recently filmed cinematic journal about spending the end of 2023 in New York City. If you don’t mind stopping by Jack:)
This camera has a recording limit of just 30 minutes, which is very bad when I'm filming long-term events, and it also heats up a lot. The camera is excellent for photography, but for working with videos of event and long interviews, it is very bad because of the recording time limit of 30 minutes, and the camera turns off every 10 or 30 minutes.
Those vintage nikon's are so good! I have a 35mm 2.0 Nikkor Non AI and they're so fun to use. How did you find the color grading process when making this?
I agree! Slightly annoying that they focus in the opposite direction to most other lenses but great optically and mechanically. I'm still a student of color grading but the huge dynamic range in these environments is what made it difficult on this one.
@@jackssketchbook Totally, after. alittle bit you get used to it focusing the other way and then get confused with the normal focusing lenses haha. If you don't mind, I make films as well on my channel, would appreciate you taking a look and knowing what you think Jack!
I have this exact setup. Panasonic G9 with the latest firmware, Olympus 12-40 Pro f2.8. And he's right HLG is beautiful. I'm trying to decide whether the V-Log upgrade is worth it. Will it make my life any better for £99 I'm not sure about that. These LOG profiles seem to get a lot of hype but are extremely underwhelming in practice. I've got V-Log on my Panasonic S5 and I had it on the GH4. I'm thinking they're maybe a bit of a gimmick. If you shoot in the middle of the day and it's super bright no LOG profile is going to make a bit of difference. If you shoot at the right time of day when it's not so bright you can get good footage without the LOG profile. Shoot smart and think about post ahead of time.
After updating this lens to ver 1.3 i got Linear focus, however, the setting is limited to only 360 and maximum focus throw, all shorter focus throw are greyed out. How about yours?
I swapped mine out once the primes lenses came out, too much unreliability with how the focus will perform with updates etc especially whenever it blocked linear focus, real shame because optically its amazing
Love the videos mate have subbed! what lenses you using during this? Also do you mind me asking you what set up you are running for the colour grade laptop/computer and monitor ect? Thanks mate
Thanks! This is a mix of a few so I'm not sure, but I manly use the 1.8 primes now. If you're looking for a new device for colour grading/editting the new M1 Mac's are the way to go imo :)
cooll.. what are the lenses that u're using? i kinda guessed could it be a native panasonic one? the greens looks like panasonic characteristic in color rendition..
